Maybe its because I got an XR as an upgrade from my 6S+ a few months ago, but I'm just not excited by what rumors I've seen. I'm not looking to upgrade but I will be disheartened if at the end of the keynote I'm not pleasantly surprised by some aspect of the presentation.

Choosing a XR makes it seem as though the camera isn’t that important to you. I didn’t upgrade to the XR from my 8 plus because I heard the camera isn’t as good on the XR.

Many people love taking photos and find the camera to be one of the most important features on their phone. For photo enthusiasts around the world these new phones are going to shine.

Also there are many of us who didn’t upgrade already and this batch will be the best and most refined of this design. I hope the prices aren’t insane but I expect a price move on the next 5G phone. I will skip that until it is more mature. So for some of us out there this years phone could be a great buy assuming you didn’t get tempted into an upgrade the past several years it makes perfect sense.

Question is, will it be the iphone XI or 11? The iPhone XIR or 11R? I mean, do you really want a phone that people will pronounce as the iPhone "Zir"
Won’t be Roman numerals, that was only for 10. Can you imagine iPhone XIII or XIV? lol

What makes the most sense to me is iPhone 11 for the 6.1”, with the OLED models being iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Cheers for the tipster ! Hope the "11" will stay on battery longer than Xs o_O

Longer than 10 hours and 38 minutes? Most phones don't last that long. Maybe they have nuclear fired batteries

so maybe because mot people wait 3-5 years to upgrade a phone, you are not excited about upgrading in a few months. Makes sense, not particularly note worthy, but thanks for sharing

Looking forward to 802.11AX in the new phones. I love my router I got back in February and it is super fast network with more uncrowded 5ghz channels and better streaming.

I won’t be upgrading from my XR. Chances are increasing, though, that the next time I upgrade it will be an Android device.

No plans to move away from iPad though. Nothing compelling enough in that space to convince me.

People have really odd expectations of Apple. Just like everyone else, they've mostly delivered incremental changes to what existed before. The headline features have been:

- iPhone: multi-touch interface
- iPhone 3G: 3G network support
- iPhone 3GS: improved speed (uh, that was basically it)
- iPhone 4: higher pixel density screen
- iPhone 4S: Siri
- iPhone 5: LTE network support, new aspect ratio
- iPhone 5S: TouchID and 64-bit processor
- iPhone 6/6+: new screen sizes and NFC
- iPhone 6S/6S+: 3D Touch and LTE Advanced network support
- iPhone 7/7+: dual lens camera system (+ only)
- iPhone 8/8+: inductive/wireless charging
- iPhone X: OLED screen, FaceID
- iPhone XS/XS Max: dual SIM support
- iPhone XR: haptic touch

Those features aside, every subsequent generation is pretty much "faster processors, better cameras, better screens, improved networking." If you expected every new iPhone to make your head explode, you're barking up the wrong tree and should consider skipping a couple of generations each time so changes feel less incremental.

An you always take that decisión 10 days before the launch ???

We already know months ahead what new features come to every new version of the iPhone. We have a pretty good idea of what 2020 iPhone is going to be like, or most likely to do at this point.

Still love my Xs max will love my 11 max or what ever its call. On the iPhone upgrade program for a reason.

I've had every new iPhone every year since the iPhone 3G existed. This is the first time I don't feel the need to upgrade. My Xs is almost perfect. Waiting for the next big iPhone change. :)
I would've thought you'd skip the Xs... the difference between the X and Xs was so minimal. Possibly the smallest "S" upgrade ever.
The 11 or whatever it'll be called will likely have a few big changes, I reckon some more than what the rumours are pointing to.

Almost feel as though it may be worth scrapping the S models for the sake of a yearly release, and just put everything into a new model every two years. These incremental updates are getting smaller and smaller.

The thing is, nobody if forcing you to buy every model that's released. How can you possibly see more frequent updates with whatever new tech they have as a negative?

Not everyone buys every new model on launch day. If someone is looking for a phone 18 months into your 2-year release cycle, why should they be stuck either waiting 6 more months for the new model or buying a very old model that's about to be replaced by a major jump?

And why do you pick on a 2-year cycle in that case. These days, people keep their phones 3 years on average, so except for people who just buy every phone like a blind sheep, a 2-year cycle doesn't work. With Apple's current system, whenever you decide you want an upgrade, you can either get something less than 9-months old or wait less than 3-months for a new model. That's a pretty reasonable arrangement.

You can just buy the non-S models if that's what makes you happy. The existence of a model you don't want to buy doesn't affect you at all. Are you upset that they sell the Xs, Xs Max, and Xr as well because you only want to buy one phone?

I was way too disappointed with the camera of the X. I didn't feel a significant improvement over my iPhone 8 Plus. The other reason i used to change every year, it's because I wanted to sale my iPhone when it still had a good value, and to always have a brand new phone always under warranty. But considering the fact I've never spend so much on an iiPhone with the XS, I'm really keeping it for an extra year this time.

Anyone know what Credit Agency Citizens One uses when we get the Upgrade Email to go ahead and select our phones and get re approved? I know Apple tends to send that email to us a few days before pre order night, so I want to get the correct one unfrozen or should I unfreeze all 3?

Im still on iPhone 6. iPhones were never needed to be updated every year. People are spoilt though so no reasoning there. :)
I might upgrade this year though as even iOS is no longer supported but will wait and see what they come up with. These prices are insane. I literally bought iPhone 6 for 1/2 price. Crazy

Im impressed, the 6 Plus became too slow for me about 2 years ago...though that could have been the touch disease and battery throttling.

The prices are high for the Xs, so just get the Xr. That's a lot less... Given you got 5 years out of your 6 i really dont think you havent been getting your money's worth :)

Not according to experts and others. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/iphone-xs-iphone-xs-max-battery-life,review-5773.html. Maybe you have a defective battery?

I may have, after only 3 month of usage the maximum capacity was down to 91% I took it to the Apple Repair and they were going to charge me for it because according to them that was normal aging. It is now down to 85% peak capacity after only 9 month of use.

I experienced good battery life with the iPhone and especially 7s Plus, but the X ones have been terrible.

iPhone XS has the worst battery life I have ever experienced. It as bad as iPhone 4 was.

Completely opposite. The XS has exceeded my expectations on battery longevity through the battery management. On that note, your post doesn’t explain anything why your battery life was the ‘worst’ (And that’s variable with settings/LTE coverage, ect.)

My phone is still fast and the update that they made 1-2 years ago (I forgot) made the phone even faster.
Sure, the new ones are super fast but I'm not an idiot who demands an app to launch fraction of a sec faster etc. :-D :-D :-D
I bought iPhone 8 when it came out and used it for 10 days or so. After that I've decided to return it as the money vs features etc. gain wasn't worth it. It was just faster and had better camera but on daily basis it was hardly anything worth the cost.

2 years later I'm in a similar situation and right now I'm considering the update purely for the camera improvements over the years. I could live with the phone longer as its still a great phone plenty fast but the camera is the weakest point.

I don't really like the XR. Too many compromises and price difference is not that huge. So either full on phone or wait another year. :)

Given the cost of my 6 (500GBP) I can say that each year cost me only 100GBP which is not much. If I sell it I might get 100GBP back so overall amazing value.

I can't say the same about the current generation though. 2x cost and who knows if the value will be there. :)

That being said, I look forward to updated iPads and iMacs as I'm eager to upgrade my Air 2 and replace my 2017 MBP :)
