I’m a MARIO CART fanatic right now. I game every day on my Pro Max till experience isn’t being given and have been running the races everyday for at least 45 mins straight and have not experienced a hot phone or shut down.

Mobile gaming is more stressful on the GPU and CPU than streaming video content is all day.

A13 a very energy efficient chip.

This year beyond the promised efficiency gains, Apple has said they’ve improved the device’s SoC cooling capabilities, being able to better spread the heat from the SoC to the body of the phone and as such allow the silicon to retain higher performance states.

it’s meant to dissipate heat off the chip onto your phone perfectly normal.

Hi
I am in the market looking to upgrade from my 8 plus to the new 11. But I have read various reports on the new iphones running too hot even while performing basic tasks like scrolling or typing. Sometimes even to the extent of being too hot to touch ending up with the temperature warning displayed on screen. There are also a few videos on you tube with one from a battery drain test where the iphone 11 got exceptionally hot. Several users complaining on the apple forums as well. I don’t have the links right now as I have been reading all this over a period of a few days now. I know such reports about the phone running hot are common for this time of the year with new phones just being released. But such reports are making me think twice about pulling the trigger as I live in India where we do not benefit from Apple’s return policy. Also Apple recently brought about some change where the users with battery replacements done from non authorised service providers would be shown a warning regarding this. A user on Apple forums posted about her new iphone 11 showing this same warning and then running out of battery. Maybe some recent tinkering on Apple’s part causes this abnormal battery drain and high temperatures???
I just wanted to know about the experiences of the people who bought any of the new iPhones especially the 11. Maybe your positive experiences would instill enough confidence in me to buy or the other way round. I would appreciate everyone to chime in so maybe we can get a general consensus of the feelings here regarding how serious the issue really is...
Mine only runs Hot if I'm surfing the web for a long time. All else is ok. No Hot Flashes.

just received my iPhone 11 Pro and noticed that he has been really hot when setting it up. I have set it up with a fresh install of iOS 13.1 so to start 100% clean but got super hot when setting it up: did you noticed the same?

Since then I feel it can be a bit warm when running some app but indeed not as hot as for the first setting but wanted to know if you are experiencing it.
Just got mine as well. It get hot from ordinary use. The back, mostly. You can hold it, but very hot. Cannot be normal.

my phone started acting up on 11/22/19. while listening to apple music and surfing the web, my phone became increasing warm. i decided to turn my phone off and got no response after touching the screen or pressing the power button on the side. next thing i know the whole phone just shut down and became very very hot in the back where the battery is located. from 5pm to 10pm my phone just died and i was going to bring it back to Verizon to find out what the hell happened. by 10:30pm, I've decided to give it another go by turning it on and it turned out the battery died out after the 5 hours of blackout. i recharged it and it seemed to be working again. But i do noticed the response time is slower than usual. the touchscreen does not respond as fast as it was before and i had the iPhone 11 pro max for only one month. i am a bit disappointed with all the money spent and this happened.

11 pro max here. No issues with heat.

Sounds like you have a defective phone. I would exchange it.
