If you do in store pickup the trade in is still shipped. You can't do in store trade in unless you do the whole purchase in store and doing that you can't pre order.

Actually, you can. Simply you just pre-order and NOT choose the trade in option at check out. Then you wait for delivery or pick up in store and just take the device with you and trade in that way they will it in store and credit you back on the debit card or use that same care you used on the device. I have done this last year and is doable, and luckily the Sales specialist at my local apple store knew exactly how the process worked and went seamless.

I do get what you are saying though, if you pre-order and choose the trade in option at check out, then yes, you'll likely have to wait till they ship it out.

Ordered the clear case which delivers on Saturday. that's a must for me as I will not be using a naked phone.

I ordered the clear case, too, and every time that I look at my order page, I think "what, the new phone is arriving on 9/13?!" (Ok, it's not quite that extreme, but it did get me a couple of times). :)

Has anyone had issues ordering and picking up in a different state then your billing address? I am going to be out of town on launch day and was hoping I could just preorder to the apple store near my hotel.

No there should not be an issue with this. Occasionally I visit Cincinnati, OH, and had no issues ordering for pick up at the Kenwood Towne Centre and my billing address is not in OH. I've also had no issues ordering for a pick up at the Apple Michigan Avenue in Chicago, IL.

I have not. I think you should be fine.

You can choose what Apple store you want to pick up at. You address has nothing to do with that.

Apple's system is better overall. Also, if you finance, the loan is through CitizenOne

If you get an iPhone loan with Verizon, the phone isn't really yours and Verizon can disable your device for missed payments. Citizen one can't do that. I'm not saying you should miss payments, but the device is yours when you buy it from Apple. You're basically leasing it from Verizon.
Does Citizen's report your payments to the credit bureau(s)

Yes, so you should definitely pay them.

However, from a strictly humanitarian standpoint, they can't cut off your ability to use your phone for not paying.
I just think it is dumb that utilities will never report positive payments but will sure as heck put up negatives.
[doublepost=1568221217][/doublepost]All the tbc are now confirmed, and the 11 pricing is $699/$749/$849.

I agree. I’m not accountant so this is not legally binding advice, and should be heeded with caution: if you take a loan or credit line, you should pay them.

Check this out:

https://www.apple.com/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program

Click Join Now. The select iPhones buttons are greyed out. And it says pre-order 9-13. So maybe no pre-approval process?
I am current XS on iUP. When I launch the app, I am asked to check upgrade availability and the rest looks like a matter of a series of clicks.
It's kind of a matter of not needing the bigger device. I told myself after this year I would probably drop back down to the comfortable 5.8" form factor.

Ah, thanks. I'm not sure I would need a larger device. But headed into this round of iUP, I have been more curious about how the larger Max would work within the confines of my XS-sized usage scenarios. Cheers.

I have a question, if you went though the per-approval for the new phone, do you have to purchase it through the Apple Store app or can you use the website?

They kind of do don't they? If you pay your bills on time that's reflected in your credit.

Funny how the pre-order delivery status thread is 2 weeks old and preorders don't even start for another 2 days.....

Just some data:
1) Soft Pulls with Citizens is purely algorithmic and use past history, type of card used to make payments (flexible spending, Charge card, conventional CC with limit), and your yearly income (Dont lie on this, it's fraud).

2) Citizens loans do show up if they do a hard pull as an inquiry. They DO NOT show up as a line of credit or financing loan. Think of a credit check done by a utility provider. You see the pull, but do you see it as a 12 month contractual loan your service?

Does the whole remove the SIM card your new phone came with and insert the old one before turning it on trick to avoid activation fees work still? Maybe someone who recently got a new phone could chime in?

Check the first post. It started with a bunch of tips and tricks and things to work on.

I created the thread after the UK one was created ;-)

Not off-topic, but the answer for me at least appears to be "sometimes"

I haven't been charged an activation fee in a while despite changing phones a couple of times

When i preorder, do i get it before the 20th? :) Never preordered before
No. Depending on your timing, you may get the iPhone delivered on the 20th, but never before.

What’s the benefit to ordering through Apple vs AT&T if you’re using the Next program?
