I’d call UPS instead of Apple.
I called UPS first, but they said APPLE made the delivery change!!! What! I had to take a moment to recover from my brief meltdown, yo, I was seriously not expecting to see that craziness in my tracking when my phone was already on the truck out for delivery!! But now I think this MIGHT be for a 2nd order I placed on Friday that I tried to cancel over the weekend. I had called Apple directly to cancel, they said they would “try” to do it before the phone shipped out from China. Then my card was charged twice this week, so I figured the Apple rep couldn’t cancel the order in time and I’d have to bring the phone into an Apple store. So, if Apple is intercepting my “cancelled” order so that I DON’T have to take it to the store to return the phone, then that would be DOPE!! I won’t know until I speak to Apple, which won’t be anytime soon cuz their lines are blowing up right now.
 
Picked it up at 8:05 at my local UPS CC, there were four of us in line to pick up. Couldn't have been easier. This thing seems heavy for some reason. And upgrading is getting it really hot! But it's mine. All mine! ;)
 
I bought mine sim unlocked will they charge the fee?
I don’t know how Verizon works, but I think they charge the fee whenever a new phone is activated on a line. It’s total nonsense, which is why you should ask them to reverse the fee, if you end up getting charged.
 
Yesterday I used the UPS My Choice app to set up having them hold my phone at the local call center so I could have it at 9:00 AM this morning. I should have checked that the request went through as it didn’t and it is now out for delivery—sometime before 8:00 PM local time. I also have to stay home and wait for it because the package is marked that I have to sign for it.

Past experience tells me that it will be after 5:00 PM before it is delivered.

I knew this would happen (based on my past experience) , so as a backup I ordered another to be delivered...

That guy is going here and there in front of my eyes. he circled around me 4 times. I am patiently waiting...

Yeah right. They aren’t compensating me for showing delivery on the 20th and then changing it to a later date in the confirmation email I got 30 minutes later.

i know, don’t forget they have to do next day air deliveries by 10:30 first.

unfortunately we don't get that luxury here... .otherwise i'd get my phone early since they shipped my watch band next day air...

but because of our area it's ALL by the end of the day...
 
report back how long this ends up taking what what moved and what didnt move, tempted to try this process with our new phones today.

It took five minutes less than the estimated 1.5 hours.

so does this migrate EVERYTHING? so you have a mirror of your old phone?
Similar to a backup and restore.

yes, please! If it's easier than doing the iTunes back up... i'll try that when my baby gets here!

They seem the same minus the whole backup part first. However I backed up my iPhone X yesterday before installing iOS 13, so I felt a little more confident trying the migration tool.

I got that garbage too! So nice of them to wait until the very last minute when anticipation is at the maximum to rip our hearts out with a spoon :(
 
Not to mention expensive. I considered it but don't like that the whole bottom is open. Went with Totallee and a Spigen Crystal Clear. We'll see whether they yellow.

I like the open bottom. Makes for easy swiping and also look cool to show off some bezel action.

Ouch.. this year I went back and forth regarding pickup or shipping and decided shipping.. I hope they sort it out soon
 
i must be phrasing my question wrong:(

people that got your phones already: what day last week (or this week) did the pending charge show up on your card ? i’m trying to figure out when i’ll get my phone
