ya... i stopped that BS about 10-15 min in by shutting it down.... activated right away when I started her back up. She's restoring now...

says it's going to be about 2 hours! o_O

I assume you'll have to call apple...

This would be a good time to do anything other than watch the screen. My migration was timed at 1.5 hours and the guesstimate was spot on.

2:55er, SG 256GB 11 Pro...

Took about 2 hrs to unpair the old watch, do an iTunes backup, swap the SIM card, do the iPhone to iPhone transfer (about .5 hrs including setting up existing ApplePay cards), pair the new watch.

No problems at all. The transfer didn't fail and activation didn't hang.

Went with Apple's leather case and a new glass protector for me...XDesign. Price is hard to beat, $4 for 3 covers. Even comes with an alignment frame, which worked very well. Perfect alignment, one try, one second.

Congrats to all who have received their new phones. And to those who are still in limbo, hang in there. It's been great seeing you all on this year's thread. Take care.

I can't get my data transfer to work. It's failed twice now and each time, I have to erase the new pro and restart.. with face ID, etc. No idea what is going on..

My data transfer failed a couple of times but I did not tap "reset". I rebooted and it picked up where it left off. It failed the first time during activation. I was lucky and activation didn't take long but that may have done it. Second time was when I was adding my cards to apple pay. It seemed it did not want to wait for the new phone to do it's own thing if that makes any sense. After rebooting the phone both times I finally got the preparing transfer screen and then it completed the transfer successfully. Apps are still loading but the transfer was done in about a half hour.

I still don’t know if I want to get AppleCare this time around or not. Leaning towards not getting it

I go no case time to time. I’d rather pay $200 and not need it than save $200 and loose $900 replacing a phone. If you sell next year it adds value to have a year of AC left as well.

Yea and that’s the part of me that wants to get it. But the. I get to thinking...I have bought Apple care for 3 different phones. X, Xs max, and I think the other one was the 7 plus? Can’t remember. But I know before the x Apple care was like $150 I think? Anyways. Never used it. So there goes 550 down the drain. That would of pretty much covered replacing the device out of warranty once. I’ve only ever broke one screen on a phone. Ironically enough didn’t have Apple care on that phone (6s+). Apple actually swapped the whole phone out and didn’t charge me a dime (luckily) <————-this is 3/4 of the reasons I stick with Apple.

In addition to all that, I’m sure I’ll be getting the new phone next year. So I’ll only have it for a year. I don’t usually resell the phones myself as I just don’t feel motivated enough too. Usually take advantage of gazelle offers, or like this year Apple trade in since they are giving me $600 for my Xs max. I’m sure I could of sold it for more, but the convenience made up the difference for me. Especially since I have a hernia right now that’s sucking the life out of me. If I do decided to get it, I will more than likely go with the monthly payments. Out of curiosity, I know you can cancel any time...do you have to call or can you cancel over the Internet? Also what happens if you use one of your accidents but then want to cancel?

Ya I get you. It’s just one of those securities i don’t have to baby my phone all the time I can use it and not have to worry what if. Paying the $200 now is way more worth it to me than dropping it in 6 months and having to pay out of warranty or buy a new one.

Selected TRADE IN for my iPhone 7+ when preordered on Apple.com

Are we suppose to put the phone in the box that the iPhone 11 came in? Or do they ship another box with a pre printed label?

Check your order status it should have info about your trade in kit at the bottom. They send a box and label.

So my iPhone has FINALLY arrived, poor thing has been around the world. It is being restored from iTunes since I just had to have the beta software. The silver is super nice, less white in person than I was expecting.

It has been fun my Addams/Manson family! But we will have our annual reunion again before we know it so we can laugh and cry together....all over again, you know cause that's how we roll. ;)
