He provided the specifics. He says he's doing a transfer. That's not restoring from iCloud or setting up as new.
Got mine today. Going back FedEx (poor iPhone XS Max doesn’t deserve that).
I gota tracking number for mine. Delivers tuesday via ups
Does it still say Monday for you? Mine originally said Monday but changed to Tuesday.
Something wacky has been going on with iPhones and Applecare. I had to get support involved because AC+ was removed from my IUP iPhone XS. I only realized it because I read about it happening to someone else on here.
My first call was to my lawyer about the #*^@& who fabricated a story that I hit her in the parking lot, even though she never got out of her car to check for damage, never called the police, and when someone else called the police the officer refused to take statements because he couldn't find any damage on her car. Nonetheless, my wonderful Geico, instead of prosecuting her for insurance fraud, decided to "throw her a few dollars to make her go away" to fix a scratch that miraculously appeared 2 days later and soft tissue injury. She must have gotten the soft tissue injury when she kicked her car to inflict some damage she could claim. And this folks is why our insurance rates are through the roof. It wasn't until I was done ranting and hung up that I realized, hey the new phone is working great!

And this is why I ran outside the minute the map said "almost there". "Delivery attempted" Happened to me one too many times while I was sitting right there in my house.

Ouch! I'm sitting here watching a drop test video... I cringed every time they dropped it!
They dropped it from the top of a ladder! Finally broke when the pro hit the pro max! Sill putting it in a case even though I don't plan to be up a ladder with my phone... at least for now.. (The two years I had the pink/rose gold phones I just had a skin... no case and LOVED it AND no broken glass or phones!)
Goes back Fedex? Sweet. I can bring it to walgreens after work Monday and drop it off.
mine did that too the first time but it was because I entered my zip code incorrectly. I had to turn it off and start over. Once I entered it correctly it quickly went through that phase of the setup. now I’m stuck in reboot for the last hour.
I had to pull the SIM card out then back in for it to register it on the cell network
Lol just watched that. Held up really well until the ladder and phone hitting phone. UPS says almost there for the last hour. Had to watch something cringe worthy.
It does look like aluminum. I had a hard time believing that it was glass rather than aluminum. I really do love the look and feel much better than last year's glossy smudge magnet.
9 hours with my iPhone 11 Pro, and I’m liking it so far. Don’t think there’s a huge change other than the camera and battery life, but that’s mainly why I bought it for. Coming from an iPhone XS Max, worth it to me. I was a 2:55er, but it delivered to me like said! 
I rarely use a case because I love the way the bare iPhone looks and feels. I keep a case handy for when I’m in an environment like a crowded sporting event or concert, but I take it off as soon as I’m in my vehicle.
I don't think they botched it. Most people here got their phones as promised. If you think about it it's amazing that so many little boxes made it to their correct destination on time. It's hard on the relatively few whose phones weren't delivered on time but that's such a minority.
