I ordered another phone in silver, going to exchange at the apple store. I thought the midnight green would be more green, looks more like gray to me most of the time.

Where did everyone go? This is the perfect forum to discuss your new phone, show off pictures, and how you had to wait in mortal agony part of the day for your phone to be delivered.

It's a shame that most leave this topic as soon as they get their phone. Those that have deliveries post 9/20 don't get much chance to share their excitement and experiences.

Took me an entire day to activate my phone but finally done. I have been on the phone with verizon for three hours. My phone shipped with a sim card that verizon says was locked.

Like I said a few post back it’s like a holiday. Stuff going on a week or 2 before the actual holiday then that day comes and goes and the day after it’s forgotten until next year.

Tested out ultra wide and telephoto today while I was shopping at Tarjay.

I won’t get my phone for probably another 1.5 to 2 weeks (order being forwarded to APO,) so I will be here for a while to enjoy everyone else’s excitement... and also be a little jealous lol.

I’m really wanting to see this phone in person, every time I see a picture of it online it looks different to me.

7 hours of phone calls. Until 2 in the morning and again this afternoon.

Neither Apple or AT&T know how to get my phone activated. Literally can’t get past the activation screen. My SIM is active and connected. Something in the hardware is holding onto the wrong phone number. Apple is “escalating“ it to engineering and I won’t hear anything back for another day or two.

I have $1300 brick.

I just need to get past that initial activation screen, that shows the wrong phone number.

can you do anything via Itunes?

Wondering when you placed the order did you type in the correct number, because they set it up
with what ever number you put in. Would a new SIM card fix it?

I had this happen. I placed the order in my phone number, not my wife's. Honest mistake. All I did was activate using my number, swap out my wife's SIM for mine in the new phone, and throw out my old sim.

It was a little concerning at first but it worked just fine. My phone would not activate with the wrong SIM installed.

I didn't update this as well as I should have. Normally, when you set a phone for Pickup at a UPS store, it delays the store one business day. Here's what I have learned:
  • UPS Store gets the delivery on Friday, so if your UPS Store is open Saturday, you can pick it up then.
  • UPS Store can get the package at any point during Friday, so I actually managed to run by at lunch time Friday and pick up my wife's device from the UPS Store.
Overall, I think it's fair to say the UPS Store method has a couple of risks, but it seems like, particularly with iPhone, UPS is pretty deadset on getting you the device on time.

I would say it’s a similar feeling like the forums but in person. Strangers become comrades briefly, not to mention the excitement of queuing up at your check in time/or walk in line...oh and don’t forget the snacks from Apple staff. One thing I think is a little over the top is the applause and cheering after getting your device. Lol, we all know why we’re there. A self high five and swift exit are enough for me.
I would never go without a reservation, but I thought the whole thing was really well done at Apple Domain Northside (Austin). I was an 8:00-8:30 appointment, got there at 8AM, and was out by 8:30 with a working iPhone 11 Pro Max. Really positive experience.

The cheering is a bit much, but it's Apple's flagship product. The bottled water was refreshing.

My Apple Store in Southlake, TX (near Fort Worth) also did a great job. I had an 11:30 - 12:00 pickup time for my wife's phone, and by then, the line for pickup was quite long (I thought it was for customers without appointments). The line ran around the interior of the store to a long line outside. I got in line at 11:20, and I was done with the pickup by 12:30. I really thought that it would be a two hour wait minimum. Also, they made sure to keep the line moving to get us out of the heat.

I remember the 3G launch. I waited outside the same store for 3 hours in the July afternoon heat. Back then, they weren't making appointments, and you had to activate the phone in the store. Of course, activation was going very slowly.

I received my phone yesterday (and posted it in this thread here) and I have to say, I'm really impressed with the stock in the Apple stores.

I live in west Los Angeles, and the phone I bought is the midnight green, Pro Max, 256gb, unlocked. As of this moment, Saturday at 1pm PST, all my "main" Apple stores have that exact phone in stock to pick up TODAY:

- Third Street Promenade (Santa Monica, this is the location iJustine goes to 😀)
- Century City
- The Grove
- Manhattan Village

I guess I didn't really need to preorder at 5am, however I do it every year so it's kind of tradition and fun for me.

I did a full restore from iTunes and it still shows up with my MIL’s phone number instead of mine. She is the account holder, but upgraded her phone to the 11.

I ordered mine through iUP on the Apple Store App. Just upgrading from the app.

so i was able to find a simfree iphone 11 pro max in store. i bought it for pickup today. can i just ask them to do the transaction on iphone upgrade program as i am already a part of it. i tried iUP while placing order but it said not available for Tmobile!

Looking at Apple site to order - online store say only payment plan is Apple - you used to be able to do vendor payments or Apple payments - I'd rather do Apple pickup but don't want to pay Apple for phone and vendor for plan - Am I missing something
