Got my phone Friday. Picked up at CC. Got there 30 minutes after they opened, and no line. Was in and out in under 5 minutes. They did ask for my ID and I had to sign for it. Couldn't activate it until 11 pm, as I had a full day.

Wow, what a difference from my iPhone 7 Plus. It's so smooth and fast!! Used it fairly lightly on Saturday, so couldn't really get a real idea on battery life.

Sunday, my day was a little more packed. Started using the phone at 9 am (charged it for 2 hours and got to 98%). Drove for 2 hours streaming music the for an hour, using waze, and a phone call for 1 hour and 27 minutes (an hour of this call, I was using the GPS app). Watched a couple of youtube videos, social network, reading, and snapped a couple of photos and videos (total of 4H 26 min of screen time). By 11 pm, I was at 41%. Absolutely impressive!!

My iPhone 7 battery life was an issue (I had the battery replaced in December). I charged it before going to bed, left it at 100%. Turned on the phone twice during the night to check the time, used GPS to drive to work, streamed music (25 minutes), and have already used 1 h 17 m of screen time, and I am still at 92%. With my iPhone 7, I probably would have been at 50%.

This was an awesome upgrade from my iPhone 7 plus! I do still find myself getting used to FaceID-- I am constantly pressing the home button. Also, I am constantly taking screenshots when I am trying to turn the screen off.

Got my email verifying AppleCare + for my new iPhone. I know many have been concerned about the delay.
Yes got same but my phone is in the 9/27-10/1 delivery (I was on 8 minutes after and got bumped to this). It then shipped and now is stuck in a customs and logistical snafu that apple says my take a day or two to straighten out. So does not do me much good LOL

Yes that and the triple camera system for me were the selling points to upgrade now hoping apple can get the shipping snafu fixed while I await there are no stores nearby to try and get locally from for me

Same here (7+ to 11).
3 years with an older iPhone and you do notice the much better response time, smoother, and being able to stream quicker.

I can't wait to get my WiFi6 (802.11ax) router to see if it will help...

I'm starting to realize why you guys do the UPS CC pickup now... I'm trying to think if I've ever gotten a iPhone at drop and had it mailed to me. Last one I remember was the 6 and it had to go a different address first. I think the previous ones I waited in line for. So I guess it's my rookie mistake. ;)

Every year I do the pick up

At what stage does the previous iUP loan get put on hold? When Apple says it has shipped? It’s frustrating to have to pay an extra payment on the phone that’s about to be sent back.

You might get refunded for that extra payment. I've been a member of IUP from the beginning. I remember the iPhone X was delayed until November and I was annoyed about paying a couple of months extra on my old phone past a "yearly" upgrade. I don't remember the details but I could swear that they refunded me a payment or two.

CC all the way. Mine is across town but it's still less of pain than the alternative.

Either UPS CC pickup or In store pickup at Apple always seem to work like a charm with no hassle. As much fun as tracking the phones is with others, I must adjust there’s a lot less anxiety watching each scan day by day as opposed to just waiting from one notification from Apple. As long as you get in on time with your preorder, both usually have a 98% day one acquisition success rate.

Curious if I should ride this iPhone 11 Pro Max naked or case it. I've always cased it an protected my investment but going naked is highly appealing, just wondering if it is as durable as they say it is.

I'm currently in the IUP. I didn't preorder but I'm ready to upgrade now. None of my local stores show my config and shipping says Oct.14 - Oct.21. I'd like to get it before a trip on Oct.16. What are the odds that the stores will get more before Oct.14? I've never gotten a new iPhone this close to the release date before.

why not just check your surrounding stores for stock each day and cancel your online order?

we have been, just no luck there. If we got them unlocked, then we’d have to got to our ATT store to transfer/activate. The store is OK but ssslllooww. Would easily be two+ hours. Last time we went through ATT store the clowns didn’t put the sim card in!
I trust going through the Apple Store more. After a certain amount of time it’s just not worth it to chase them down.

My store said to check back daily as thier new stock is released at ~6:00am.

Pretty sure UPS lost my phone. Waiting to talk to an Apple Supervisor now. I was told they would need to investigate and that would be 3-4 days. I said no!!! UGH!!

No updates on it. By now it should be out to go to the deliver location for pick up, 43 minutes on hold now and this is my second call since I got cut off before. UPS wanted to send me to their international dept. This is totally crazy.

Can you post a screenshot of your tracking?

I never realized the CC was different from a UPS store. It turns out the CC I would have gone to is only open evenings I think 6:30-8:30 so it actually would have been perfect for me. Actually, I had a dinner last Friday so I was SOL regardless, but yeah generally speaking I'd have an easier time making the CC. Plus that late at night traffic generally isn't an issue so it's fine that it's a little further away.

Apple showed no movement at a later time. I don't get it. UPS promised me Friday delivery and my husbands phone did come.At the very least it should show out for delivery to the Access point by the end of the day. I did get that once this morning and then it went back to this. At this point I want to cancel the order and get a new order. I don't think I should have to wait 3-4 days.

Looks like it should be delivered to the UPS store today. Normally when a hold request is pending it doesn’t show out for delivery. Also the date isn’t a promise it’s an estimate.

This is my first time ordering from Apple that I’m not getting it on release day.

My dates are Oct 4-11. How does Apple usually do with estimated dates?
