I'm currently in the IUP. I didn't preorder but I'm ready to upgrade now. None of my local stores show my config and shipping says Oct.14 - Oct.21. I'd like to get it before a trip on Oct.16. What are the odds that the stores will get more before Oct.14? I've never gotten a new iPhone this close to the release date before.

Very good chance you can get one quickly. Check availability early each morning on Apple store app or website: they refresh the availability each day. Most likely you’ll be able to order for pickup that day when they show availability. The stores appear to be getting new iPhones every day.

Curious if I should ride this iPhone 11 Pro Max naked or case it. I've always cased it an protected my investment but going naked is highly appealing, just wondering if it is as durable as they say it is.

Because I’m insane, I carry my iPhone naked most of the time (I have since the 3G). I have a case handy for times when I need protection like at the gym or going for a run, but I take it off for my normal routine. :)

Pretty sure UPS lost my phone. Waiting to talk to an Apple Supervisor now. I was told they would need to investigate and that would be 3-4 days. I said no!!! UGH!!

Looks like it should be delivered to the UPS store today. Normally when a hold request is pending it doesn’t show out for delivery. Also the date isn’t a promise it’s an estimate.

I think mine is lost also lol. I initiated a lost package with Apple on Saturday and today I got an email from Citizens saying that my loan was cancelled. Apple.com says "We’ve issued your refund. Please allow up to five business days for it to post to your original payment method."

I'm glad I went to a store near me and picked one up on Saturday instead of waiting

I'm curious if the Keychain is turned on in iCloud on her new phone. We were having some wonky wifi issues with my wife's new 11 so I backed it up again and the erased and iCloud backup restored it again. I was going through settings and saw Keychain turned off on the restored phone, flipped the switch to turn it back on and the Keychain populated within seconds.
Thanks. I will have to check that.

Phone has been delivered. This time they put it in the package lockers, so I guess they were just full on Friday so the delivery person tried to come by the apt but no one was there to answer.

Same thing I did except mine was a delayed pick up order. Found a MG 256 Max Sim Free at King of Prussia Saturday morning so went for it. Now my original pickup is ready, but every time I try to cancel online, it errors out.

I don’t understand why people are claiming their package is “lost” after it being a day late. That’s not at all how it works

Simply don't order from AT&T. Cancel your AT&T order and purchase at your nearby Apple store or reserve as soon as the option opens to allow reserves for AT&T iPhones start again at Apple simply order from Apple for pickup at the Apple store. You will save the taxes.

If you order from a carrier they ship to your address and taxes are based on your address!

I didn’t order from the carrier, I ordered from the Apple Store.

Some of those may not be "lost", but I think mine might actually be lost lol. I spoke to someone at my distribution center on Saturday and they recommend that I file a lost package request with Apple. It was out for delivery on Friday and now it just says "Please check back later for scheduled delivery". Apple refunded me because they agree it is lost.

EDIT: specify which group I'm referring to:

27th estimated crew: I did some time math from using the UPS track on a release day phone (https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ead.2195752/page-351#lg=post-27773097&slide=0)

Here are some napkin math predictions based on the above information and our current status. Note, I calculated this to Las Vegas per the release day itinerary so your actual arrival time may vary:
  1. 4.5 hours from China to Anchorage. --- Will arrive @ 9/23 - ~2:30pm AKDT (UTC -8) or 6:30pm EDT
  2. 30 min Departure Scan @ AK --- 9/23 - 3:00pm AKDT (UTC -8) or 7:00pm EDT
  3. 18 hours release by Customs @ somewhere --- 9/24 - 7:00am AKDT (UTC -8) or 11:00amEDT
  4. 13.5 hours Import Scan @ Lousiville, KY --- 9/25 - 12:30am EDT
  5. 5.5 hours Departure Scan @ KY--- 9/25 - 6pm EDT
  6. 4 hours Arrival Scan @ Las Vegas Nevada -- 9/25 - 7pm PDT
  7. Phone arrived next day --- PHONE ARRIVES 9/26
Please comment and correct if I got something wrong

Walked into Apple WTC this morning at 8:20 AM. 3 people in line in front of me. Walked out with my brand new 11 Pro Max just the way I wanted less than half an hour later, no reservation, pre-order etc.

Meanwhile the lines at the 5th Ave store are still insane.

Saw the 2 stores around me have a few as well mostly the Max in 256 and 512 no Midnight Green though.

My wife and I just ordered yesterday so we’re 2-3 weeks out for delivery.
This isn’t a problem.
The issue I do have, and it really irks me to no end, is AT&T is our carrier. Even though we purchased the phones outright (no installment plan) they insist on the phones being delivered to our home. They will not allow delivery to our local Apple Store. By doing this we had to pay a boat-load of sales tax. If delivered to the Apple Store we would have saved about $184!
If you purchased 2 AT&T iphones at the Apple store and not directly from AT&T then you could have them held for you to pickup at your local Apple retail store when they come in. There was no requirement to ship them to you at home or to any other address.

Worst case you can just return them to the Apple store and re-purchase them and not be charged the sale tax if the Apple store is located in a jurisdiction where no sales taxes are collected and you qualify for the wavier of sale taxes.

Got my IUP return kit, firm instructions to make sure SN on phone matches SN on return label. Return label has no SN. Called Apple, had to repeat the problem 3 times before they understood it. Endless wait, then the rep said I'm only returning one item so no need for a SN on the label but her supervisor said to verify the SN over the phone. No match. What?? Another endless wait, lots of back and forth, did I exchange the XS Max and get one with a different SN, no did not. Turned out the SN she read me was for my iPhone X, returned last year when I got the XS Max. Finally she said she found out that the box I was sent was connected with the correct SN for my XS Max. So I'm returning it in that box but gotta tell you, I won't rest easy until they verify that the return is complete. I've had fantastic luck with Apple senior advisors and upper management but some of the tier 1 folks could use more training.

I was told by UPS on Friday that the phone was out for delivery and that I would have it on Friday. If I was going to be home to sign for it I would have not sent it to a UPS store for pick up. I know that takes an extra day. The fact that UPS kept insisting I would get it on Friday and then seemed to have no idea where it was when I called them made me think it was lost. Apple would have taken care of me and arranged for meet pick up a phone today, but I can save myself 2 hours in traffic to go and get one by waiting another day. I should have it tomorrow.

I once returned an iPhone 6S plus to Verizon and used their label and shipped it off via usps. It never got to them unfortunately. I never got credit for it either. Some how the tracking number showed no results to begin with. In fact it never showed that usps received it. No proof it shipped. I was upset. I’m sure Apple is better at this. Just make sure you snap a photo of that tracking number and follow it until they get it. I just sent and forgot about it for a month not thinking it actually would never get there.

Yes I agree 100%. Sold my sons Alienware and monitor on eBay. I’m now out another $1,300 for shipping it USPS. Didn’t know I was supposed to claim the insurance while they were investigating for 60 days. I assumed I had to claim after investigation. Dumb dumb dumb me. I will never use them again. Anyway. Looks like my phone’s are still in China after leaving ZZ this morning. Fun stuff.

If I’m selling anything worth giving someone a refund for I use UPS. Only thing I’ll ship USPS is like cases and stuff like that where 1. If I have to refund $15 or $20 it’s whatever and 2. The item is to cheap to justify using UPS and it being $5 or $10 more for shipping.

That’s great advice. It’s true why spend $10 with UPS to ship something cheap? Ok I won’t totally boycott them.
