Then it shouldn’t say you will receive an update in 3 days if it’s going to take 3 weeks. It’s not what the reps are saying it says on the status page your phone has been received you will receive an update in 3 days

Yeah I’m really hoping it doesn’t take that long. I mean I guess I can kinda see it from the volume that they are getting, but I feel like us launch day folks should already have a completion. Especially since the 10/1 folks just got the phones and are going to be trading theirs in. Had I known that, I’d probably traded it elsewhere, however the timeframe may not be that different with the launch of a new phone.

I’ve been using this following my delivery thing on UPS, and this driver has been everywhere around me EXCEPT MY HOUSE! He’s messing with me, I know it.

It’s been fun. See y’all next year!

I'm not disputing this. My point wasn't that I'm surprised people are complaining; hell, I'd be complaining.

My point is that I'm surprised people are being told 3 days, regardless of whether it's by the reps or on the update page itself. That may work just fine when it comes to ordering an iPhone any old time, but definitely not right after a new line debuts.

Apple has had my wife's iPhone for 6 days now. Maybe they are delaying completing the inspection process until your return window has closed. That way when they tell you your iPhone X is worth $0 its too late to return the 11. Ok. I am reaching but I agree it is BS when they tell you on the update page it will take 3 days.

Thought it make a quick post since I haven’t been keeping up with this thread anymore.

Received my return box from Apple to trade in my xr on 09/24. Shipped my xr back to the trade in partner on 09/25 and it was received yesterday morning 10/01 by “Ellis”. Let’s see how this plays out.

Join the party. Iapplereviews has been in the “inspecting” stage since Wednesday. I’ve been there since Thursday. Both say “we will let you know within 3 business days”. He’s going on day 6, and me day 5, with no updates.

I'm really surprised by the "stuck in inspection" posts. I do really wonder if it has something to do with IUP customers getting their devices inspected sooner because of the loans. I'm an IUP customer and I shipped off my phone on Friday, they received it yesterday, and I got an email saying that my loan was closed this morning. I do feel for the folks that are waiting because just reading the posts made me anxious. I'm hoping that that's all it is and everyone gets their trade in news quickly.

Today is day 4 still nothing on my trade in. Says I should have heard back within 3 days. It has been at “inspecting your device” since Wednesday mid morning

I know you’re not referencing the iUP, but I got my trade in kit (finally, after a screw up on Apple's part with the first kit) on 9/28, and I dropped it off to Fedex on 9/29 (I received my new iPhone on 9/20). On 9/30, I got an email saying that my trade in had been cancelled because they hadn't received my old phone in time, and my old phone would be returned to me. I called Apple, and they're looking into it.

Anyway, I subsequently decided to return my new 11 Pro Max after I got that email because I'm not going to risk it being denied the trade in and being stuck with two iPhones. I bought an unlocked Pro Max at full price from the Apple Store, and I'll see if Apple will resell it to me under the iUP (they did this last year for me) when I get the old phone back, and trade it in in the store. If Apple doesn't accommodate me, I'll return this Pro Max, rinse and repeat. It's a bit annoying.

After being held up in Alaska and missing it's scheduled delivery on Monday, then falling victim to a mechanical failure yesterday morning and being re-scheduled again for today, UPS actually managed to get my phone delivered late yesterday afternoon. I was surprised since it arrived at the local delivery hub about 20 miles away late yesterday morning around 10:30am. I was pretty sure it missed the morning dispatch, but still ended up getting here around 4pm. Woo hoo!

Still nothing today either

I got that last year with my watch. Took forever to get the kit and said it was canceled but they said it was because they had to resend the kit and the system doesn’t realize that. Sent it back and all was good.

Yesterday, I missed 2 delivery attempts and found notices that required someone over 21 to sign. Today, I get a notice that UPS delivered it and left it by my front door. Go figure.... I'm now restoring my phone. It took about 1.5 hours and now the watch seems to be taking just as long to pair. ARGH!
I did the "put the phone near your old phone" transfer option. I think everything came over. I want to make sure before I wipe the old phone. LOL.

so if i buy my iphone on iUP and cancel the order, how much time does it take to reset the upgrade eligibility?

My shipment notification email from Apple specifically said "No signature required for delivery" and I don't see anything on the UPS tracking that would suggest any different.
No signature required. I received this box from my UPS guy.

My old iPhone 7 is worth only $100 on a trade-in, yet it's pristine. Case and screen protector from day one. I can get way more for it in a private sale. However, I'm going to hold on to it for a while as a backup. Wife and kids all have the same iPhone 7 so if anything goes wrong with theirs we have a replacement on hand.
