Me too, I ordered two iPhone 11 pro max both 256g one space gray and sliver. Still in progress with 9-20 delivery. I ordered both on same order with att at 7:58am PST Friday 9/13. But no more cancel bottom.
 
Mine still says backordered. I'm getting a bit worried. I ordered @ 7ish am last Friday. iPhone 11 Pro Max Midnight Green 256

If you ordered around that time you should be getting the shipped email anytime soon, most likely tomorrow.

Wait...check using the AT&T app. Whenever I check the initial order number they gave me (via text) it says backordered, but when I check the app, it says Preparing to Ship.
 
Would I have any issues ordering an unlocked, no SIM card phone from
Apple and use my existing AT&T SIM card?

I’ve read that there are activation problems with AT&T - but that was on the Internet 😉

My FirstNet iPhone 11 Pro Max MG is now Showing “preparing to ship”. I Ordered via FirstNet website 3:55pm on the 13th.
 
Checked my AT&T app and it says shipped with Friday delivery!!

Also got my Otterbox Commuter case too. Just waiting on my screen protector from Zagg.

Mine went from “preparing to ship with a delivery date of 9/20” to “preparing to ship” with no delivery date. Weird.
 
It’s happening! Cool stuff is on the way. Received notification of shipment with tracking number. 😁
