Carrier iPhone 11, Pro, Pro Max (2019) AT&T US Pre-orders, Orders and Delivery Status Thread

My phone and case are is supposed to be here tomorrow but with Storm Karen over us I don’t know. I ordered the Rhinoshield mod mx
Okay...this is why not AT&T next time. Woke up this morning and I moved to preparing to ship. Then six hours later on my break I check and they said it was back ordered...so I was like WTH. I started a chat and the customer service rep said it was just in progress...how did I go backwards, it is better than back ordered I guess. That was the third different answer to my one question. Wait it gets better. I just got the email with tracking number saying it shipped. Clearly they have no clue...
In every year prior to this, that is exactly the way it should progress - as illogical as it sounds. In previous years backordered means the phone is shipping and you will receive tracking soon. I'm not sure what AT&T has changed this year but it's an effing mess.
Backordered is a valid state in the order fullment process, they are receiving bulk orders from Apple. That means that AT&T has a quantity of iPhones due for delivery from Apple. Once all AT&T internal processing has completed and they are only awaiting the delivery of a bulk order from Apple, the status will show "backordered" until the bulk inventory is received and entered into the AT&T fulfillment system. Once the new iPhones are entered into the AT&T fulfillment system, they arel pulled to complete individual orders and shipped out the same day.
Note: for initial new products of iPhones AT&T does not maintain a warehouse of iPhones, they receive regular shipments from China.

Bought the Spigen Liquid Crystal with the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector to match. Been using Spigen for all my phones and never had a problem.
For those that have the MG Pro Max, what case are you guys using? I really want the clear case from Apple but I’m a little hesitant coz it doesn’t cover the bottom.
I Love the ESR glass case. Glass on the back, clear as a bell It’s like 16.99 on Amazon
I got a liquid crystal clear case from spigen that is nice, but I've been using the forest green leather case from Apple
possibly Apple is giving AT&T numbers to translate to order fulfillments and then physically the phones don’t actually get scanned into AT&T’s system, thus the backwards route?
Did anyone else’s phone get delivered by UPS ground instead of by air? My phone is coming from York, PA and I live in Western Washington. Just seems odd...and it’s going to take a week to get here.
Mine is being delivered by UPS ground as well and it also came from York, PA. My deliver date says “Wednesday, by end of day.” I live in Maryland and my iPhone is currently an hour and half away from me.
Yes, I understand what backordered means. The illogical step is that in the past orders go from Preparing to Ship to Backordered.
Makes sense for you, but for me...not so much. I just want my phone. 🤪 Wish I still lived in Delaware right now.
Mine shipped yesterday...it’s coming from York, PA to Western WA by UPS ground, next week...1 October. So it’s hard to say, thought I was going to have mine by Friday until I saw it was going by ground and not air.
I ordered the same MG Pro Max on 9/19/2019. Mine has said Preparing to ship since Monday. My delivery dates are: Sept 27, 2019 - Oct 4, 2019
Did you get them? Mine was out for delivery today and after the USPS office closed at four it changed to “Available For Pickup” I went to the post office and the lady said they couldn’t check cause they were already closing to come back tomorrow I’m literally pissed at this whole thing by now.
