200MB/sec = 1.6Gb/sec (200 * 8)
0.16GB/sec = 1.28Gb/sec (0.16 * 8)
Huh?
I am genuinely wondering what you’re doing here...

I'm not sure what you are doing here. Why are you multiplying by 8? The metric system is a system of 10's lol.
175 Mbps most certainly equals 0.175 Gbps...

175Mb/sec does. 175MB/sec wouldn't.
Neither of you seem aware of the differences between Megabits (Mb) and Megabytes (MB).
1MB = 8Mb

We were discussing internet speed...why in the world would you think we would be discussing "megabytes" and not "megabits"? I apologize for using all caps but didn't know that would cause confusion when talking about internet speeds lol.
Because ISPs typically advertise megabits but software usually reports transfer speeds in megabytes. So it's important to be clear in such discussions.

You originally stated: "So your home Internet is 1.6Gbps?!"
So clearly you knew we were discussing BITS and not BYTES...
Agreed. It’s been a rectangle since 2007, it will be a rectangle far into the future. Internals are far more important than small cosmetic changes to the rectangular shell.Honestly, how can people get over a design so quickly? I mean, obviously it’s always nice to have a new design, but I’m much more interested in upgraded internals. I’d take that any day over a completely new design.
No, you said your home Internet was 200MB/sec, so I questioned that because 200MB is 1.6Gb/sec.
If we are arguing semantics here then "MBPS" is not "MBps" so I actually did not say my internet was 200 MB/sec![]()
Oh, so what does MBPS mean then? And what speed is your Internet?
I still don't see a reason to upgrade from my iPhone 6 !!!
I replaced battery and it is as good as new. I don't play games or use camera that often.
Yeah, then the price is $500 and you lost your iPhone X which you could've given to your spouse or keep as a backup. I swear the stuff I read on this forum sometimes...![]()
Any word on the Face ID improvements? I have been reallllly hoping it’s noticeably better and can work laying flat on a table. The fact it’s not mentioned at all in any of the reviews I have seen makes me think if there is any improvement it wasn’t noticeable.
Only $550? I got $720 for my unlocked 256GB X a week before the keynote. Might've dropped now, expectedly, as the new models have been released and older ones have either been discontinued or discounted.
Does it matter? Rumors and benchmarks are pointing towards 4GB lately, but it seems these numbers are always used as weenie-measuring between the warring iOS and Android fanboy factions.
I'll be passing on my X to my wife so I will be paying the full amount when I DO upgrade.

My battery lasts me all day and the photos I take look great (but I take important photos with a DSLR), so no, its not really a compelling upgrade for everyone.
Honestly I am very likely to want next years phone, so paying 1K+ for this years phone is not great when I know I'll have to do it again next year.
No need for a backup and no spouse, so why would throw $400+ dollars away?
With the iPhone 11 being the third iteration of the X design, next year should hopefully be a complete redesign which makes it more than just an S.
...unless Apple go with the same design for a 4th year :|
So it means the price is still $1000 because that iPhone X wasn’t free either. You’re salvaging some of your previous spent money to buy a new iPhone, that doesn’t mean that $400 dollar just dropped from the sky.
When I lived in Freemont in Seattle I usually got between 1 and 20 mbps at home with century link. It was crap!Maybe 20 MBPS (60/3) is "fast" in London but that is snail pace for home internet here in the USA. My basic cable internet through the local ISP is consistently pulling 175-200 MBPS here in the USA. And I'm nowhere near a big city.
