Those bezels are as big if not bigger than the old iPhones. I was wondering why Apple didn’t bring oled to their whole line up because there aren’t many brands still on lcd in that price range.

iPhone 11 surely isn’t intended to replace an iPhone XR.As an XR owner, yes, it's a great phone. It's just not a great phone if you bought one last year. It's a mediocre upgrade, but if you're coming from a 6 or 7, it's most definitely a sizable upgrade.
Lol, I feel you. I’m wondering what would happen if people did a blind test with the phone what Pepsi did with Coca Cola in the past. Can’t imagine iPhone would come on top because you get less everything for the highest price.1792x828

Pixel and good quality screen on the same sentence ?While they are amazing at directing manufacture and calibrating the LCD screens, I just can’t see myself going back to those at this point after getting used to the really good quality samsung OLED screens on my iPhones and Pixels.
That said, Would have totally considered a 5S/SE sized phone with all of this tech though. Still have one I throw a SIM into every so often and love that form factor. I could deal with LCD in that size I guess.
There is literally ONE millimeter difference on the bezels. The XR and the 11 are just too big and those bezels are disgusting. Im happy with my X. Looking forward to the next year iPhone 11 pro successor.
If you stop looking at “numbers” and start looking at the display, you’ll find out the XR/11 screen is better than most of the so-called high end android phones.1792x828

As battery life and camera quality are concerned, the difference is night and day. These reviews have me wondering if I should stick with my 8...
Just trying to surf the web while riding the NYC subways. Without 4x4 MIMO it takes forever to reacquire the signal once pulling into the station, and signal gets lost faster than it otherwise would while leaving each station.
Totally agree. I have been stuck at the 6(S) and hate its slower performance while hoping we would see a form factor generally in the 6(S)/7/8 category with upgraded internals, fingerprint sensor and no wireless charging (don't want the weight of a glass back). A phone that fits in my jeans rear pocket that does not protrude has been my standard for years, of course some smartass will say something like get larger jeans pockets.
Night Mode could be software AND hardware. If Night Mode is just sofware,
which Apple banns from iP XS (Max),
I'm amazed if there would not be s***storm.
People have bought $1.5k flagship products from less than year ago to just few weeks ago.
And then Apple puts new software to a phone that costs half of the recent flagship.
We all know A12 could handle it.
A large number of games take advantage of the additional power and resources.
I think the sameJust wish it had an OLED, looks like another year with my X
I think the problem is that a lot of the people who want a small phone want at the same time a bigger one. I'm not saying that's you but I could imagine it's a large part of the "small phone" crowd. And these people will then in the end still by the larger phone just in case. I know I'm one of these people. And a few people really buy small phones. Apple unfortunately has decided that these few people (probably still many millions worldwide) are not worth the investment.
In a perfect world I would want a iPhone 11 size phone for most of my workdays and a very small phone for going out in the evenings, sport, shopping and all other activities where i don't want to carry a larger phone. The phones should be synced and I would be swapping the sim. And by that i would always have a backup phone in case one of the breaks.
Yes just much slower and more poorly. I have games I play on multiple generations of iOS devices and the performance differences in intensive games is MASSIVE.While also running on the iPhone SE
iFixit will dissect iP11 on friday, camera model numbers might reveal something...Night Mode could be software AND hardware.
Both Xr and non-pro 11 uses same screen technology as 8 and hence have no issues with PWM or burn ins.
why Apple choose to go backwards in tech to save a few extra dollars in their pocket...

For the rest, the iPhone 8 still is a great phone.
I remember when getting a new iPhone felt so exciting. I have an iPhone 8+, and I'm not really compelled to get a new one this year. Not to say I won't, but I think I'll probably wait until next year at this point. I guess things have plateaued to the point that the "next big thing" is now just the "next thing".
I did that for while when I had an SE and a 6 Plus at the same time. I still have the SE, actually, but I’m now used to carrying larger phones and have adapted my accessories to accommodate them. In fact I have carried two and even 3 large phones around sometimes since I started using Android phones, too.I think the problem is that a lot of the people who want a small phone want at the same time a bigger one. Honestly I think Apple COULD do it on the last gen models, but have elected not to because they don’t like the way it performs without the full Focus Pixels of the new hardware. I’m sure that will upset some users (its MR after all) but Apple doesn’t like to enable features unless it meets a mark they’re comfortable.iFixit will dissect iP11 on friday, camera model numbers might reveal something...
