Agreed. Plus AT&T’s iPhone 12 deal is crazy. If you finance it through their 30 month 0% installment plan (or add the Next option to upgrade earlier for an extra $5 a month which I’m not doing) and if you trade in your X you get an $800 bill credit that gets applied monthly.
I went with the 12 Pro which comes to around $34 dollars a month but that bill credit brings the actual monthly payment down to less than $7 a month. Do the math on that one. They are practically giving them away if you agree to go with, or stick with, AT&T and trade in your old device.
Since I’m already an AT&T customer with an eligible unlimited plan and they do have 5G in my area and in the areas I most frequently travel to in my state why not? If I’ve got to pay an extra $30 what do I care? My out of pocket costs for the phone are a little north of $210 for an iPhone 12 Max. They are desperate to hang on to customers as the 5G battle between carriers heat up. I’ll take advantage of this offer, $30 activation fee or not. It’s too good to pass up if you already use AT&T, already have one of the eligible plans and were going to trade I your phone anyway.
I was looking at potentially switching to T-Mobile to save some extra money per month had I remained on the X but after deciding I wanted to upgrade and seeing this deal that went out the window in a hurry.
