Anyone with the black leather find it sticky? Might be just the humidity here now. My sheath is not.

Yes! I came here to post this.

I don’t know what’s going on. I got a black leather case for my 12 Mini two weeks ago and I’ve really enjoyed it. It fit well, felt good, and looked great.

Then suddenly starting yesterday, it started to feel ‘sticky’. I don’t think I got it dirty. At first I was wondering if I spilled something on it or touched it with dirty hands, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t.

The texture just changed. Beforehand, it was smooth with just the right amount of tackiness. But suddenly now, it has become extra tacky and feels almost like holding a sticky rubber. It feels kind of gross. I don’t know what happened. Could the changing weather have done this?

Yep noticed this too. Black leather for 12 mini. About 10 days in and it’s kind of tacky/sticky. Not gross per se, yet at least...in fact it helps with grip but feels different from what I remember with previous apple leather cases.

Well I’ve hardly used mine so it’s not from hands, cheap leather I would say, much prefer my sheath and it’s slimmer too.

Do you know if the sheath will hold a MagSafe wallet? I imagine the answer is no, but asking anyway...

I wish. I have both cases, and I’m considering getting a MagSafe wallet. However, I’m held back by the concern that the wallet would not work with my sheath or veil.

Anyone notice how the screen changes color to match the case you are installing.

Yeah the cases have a built in NFC chip that tell the phone what accessory you are connecting and in regards to cases, it tells it the color as well.

Same. I have a saddle brown case for my 12 mini and noticed it getting “sticky” as well almost as if it’s retaining moisture which almost makes it feel like it’s dirty. I wiped it down with some water and a microfiber cloth but didn’t help much.

I don't know guys, if you feel your leather case is sticky after few days/weeks, I think it's a natural process. The leather is just ageing. Also when you have any other color except black, you will see some kind of patina. After months and months of usage, saddle brown will eventually turn in to black, or very dark brown at least.

Doesn't turn black, turns in to various shades of brown

I hear you on the aging and patina process. My previous saddle brown case aged beautifully. But this feels tackier than I remember. I’m not sure I’ll return it since it is a nice looking case and has excellent buttons.

Happy so far with my black Apple leather case for my iPhone mini (only had it since yesterday). Originally ordered this Sena leather case:

But ended up returning it. I really prefer cases like the older Apple leather cases with an open bottom, which is why I went with this one in the first place. But it had some fatal flaws: the buttons were too hard to press and had a strange texture to them, and the case didn't fit evenly all around the phone. It meant the red of the aluminum border on my Product red iPhone looked terrible because you saw it in some spots and not in others. Contrast with the Apple leather case that fits perfectly:

So far very happy with the case. The Sena one definitely had more of a genuine leather feel and smell, but the fit on the Apple case is perfect and the buttons feel just right. No corners popping out or sticky texture (yet) so I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be as happy with this one as I was with the one that was on my iPhone 8 for almost 3 years.

I bought both the Mujjo and Apple Leather cases. Prefer the texture of the Apple case (smoother) and the the fact that the Apple-branded case is slightly slimmer. The buttons on the Apple case are vastly superior.

Interestingly, my Mujjo cases for the 11 Pro Max were slimmer than their Apple counterparts and had (at least to me) a nicer texture.

Here's an assortment of comparison shots between the Apple Leather Case and the Mujjo leather case, for my iPhone 12 Pro.
The Mujjo smells like pure leather, whereas the Apple case has a faint smell of chemicals. The Apple case completely surrounds the phone and has metal buttons that are easier to press. Other obvious distinction is lack of MagSafe magnets in the Mujjo, but the Magsafe charger still "clicks" on to the case.

I'd really like to get my hands on the Bullstrap case since it looks like actual real leather from the photos.
Finally received the Bullstrap case today. I think this one fills the gaps of the Mujjo. The leather smells real, color and grain looks more genuine, and has metal buttons. Like the Mujjo, the magsafe puck charges the phone fine, despite not having any magnets built in. Here’s some comparison photos of the Mujjo and Bullstrap. I already returned the Apple leather case. The Bullstrap is my favorite by far but I’ll definitely keep both of these.

Is one more grippy than the other? What about softness? My only worry about the Bullstrap is that there are some complaints about durability after a couple months in the reviews on their website.

I too am curious about the Bullstraps durability. Also wish they were easier to get here in Canada. Nonetheless the shade of brown is truly beautiful. Enjoy.

The Mujjo is definitely grippier straight out of the box. Thanks for the heads up on durability. I hope this one lasts as the leather is quite pretty.
