Months late? What are you talking about? You do realize we are in the midst of the worst public health crisis in 100 years. Supply chains are disrupted everywhere.

For the millionth time, stop using the pandemic as an excuse. Every other company got their phones out right on time. Are they and their suppliers somehow immune from the pandemic? Apple has the same suppliers, its APPLE'S fault, they screwed up.

For the millionth time the pandemic is not an excuse. Based on the release scheduled other manufactures got the bulk of the manufacturing done before the hard shutdowns...and only needed a few units produced.

Apple orders tens of millions of phones and needed the manufacturing capacity when Foxconn was shutdown.

You’re failing to see the reality of the situation.

And it Doesn’t matter if you believe they screwed up, they are on a roll.

No, they didnt. The Note 20 and Xiaomi Mi 10 just came out last month. Those weren't produced 7 months ago lol. Just stop.

Note was manufactured in Vietnam and that country had a different response to covid as well as a different manufacturing capacity. I can almost guarantee Samsung doesn't produce the note in the same volume as apples' order to foxconn to manufacture the iphone 12 (and if they tried, they would be met with failure). So no, there was no excuse other than the pandemic, which shut the world down.

And again, based on past history, the iphone 12 will sell very well (it doesn't matter what your opinion)

Its not going to sell very well at all. Most expensive iPhone ever with no real upgrades and in the middle of a pandemic nonetheless. Im going to bet it will be one of the worst selling iPhones in the past 5 years at least.

Nah. I think you got this wrong as look at apples revenue last quarter. They killed it. I’m going to bet this iPhone flies off the proverbial shelf.

Sorry but all iPhones will sell well. Even the pro models will sell better than expected as camera improvements and brew design with 5G will pull certain people in. Think you forget how good apple’s marketing is and how much new iphones are loved around the world.

Using the pandemic as an excuse makes more sense than you trying to blame(for the millionth time) the "delayed release" of the new iPhones for the performance of AAPL. I can't believe how much this month or two difference on your IUP cycle has brought out non-stop Apple negativity from you.

Really?

“iPhone revenue was down to $28.96 billion, a 7% year-over-year decrease. The shortfall was partially made up by a 16% rise in services revenue, which include iCloud, Apple Music, and other subscriptions, to $13.34 billion. Total revenue growth for the quarter decreased to 0.5% from 9% a quarter ago””

of course it’s Apple”s fault. They were still testing screens and 64 megapixel cameras just a month ago. That has NOTHING to do with suppliers. California has been shut down, they were hiding in their houses from COVID. They were completely unprepared.

Everything will be alright. The new iPhones will be released. Apple will continue to roll along. It's not the end of the world.

You are absolutely correct. Apple should have carried on as if there was no risk to their workers to get iPhones out a month or two sooner. I'm dumping my Apple stock as soon as I can. /s

Is this the same apple figures from July 2020?

Apparently Samsung, Huwaei, Xiaomi and Oppo employees weren’t hiding out at home because they all got their phones released right on time. No outbreaks at any of their companies, interesting....

And in the end, the market doesn't give two trucks. Over the next few months Apple will be killing it with record revenues and profits, no doubt to your dismay.

As a photographer who makes photos with my iPhone X everyday (such as the one below from San Francisco's Ocean Beach), I'm looking forward to ordering/receiving a 12 Pro Max and enjoying the camera improvements made over the last three years.

Samsung is a S. Korean company. If you weren't so focused on Apple-bashing, you'd recognize how differently that country has handled the pandemic. Interesting...

Great shot! I'm also looking to upgrade from an X mostly because of the camera improvements. Interested to hear why you're thinking of the Pro Max rather than the Pro. Is it just because of the longer focal length telephoto and slightly greater optical zoom?

That is quite interesting. Makes one rather suspicious of their number reporting, doesn't it? Hmmmm

Thanx! For me it's also the larger display. But, I need to see the official specs and dimensions from Apple before I decide. It needs to fit in my pocket of the t-shirts I normally wear (Dickies). My X fits fine with room to spare. The Pro should, and hopefully the Max will.

So what? Their suppliers arent all located in South Korea now are they? Apple apologists keep blaming the suppliers for the iPhone being late, but they all have the same suppliers and every other company got their phones out right on time. This is Apple's fault.

Apple sells the number of units in a launch that Samsung sells in a year. Could it have anything to do with manufacturing capacity (limited)in Vietnam?

Sounds silly, but I cut cardboard to match the dimensions of the phones I'm interested in to see how they fit in different pockets. I've never been one to carry my iPhone in my pants — other than a desktop, it's usually in a sport coat (lots of room) or sport shirt (less room). I spend more time looking at content on my phone these days, so a larger display like the Pro Max is compelling.

Still haven't decided what to do about memory. My X has 256 GB, of which 106 GB is used. I was thinking 128 GB might be sufficient this time around, but will wait and see about the cost.
