Even if Apple already knows from other reports etc., their standard protocol is to say nothing. Not great news.

You must be doing something wrong. If you activate both settings as described, it will work. For me this didn’t change anything. I still have the same issues, they just take .1 seconds longer to see.

I hate the old you are the first person to complain palm offEven if they’re aware of the issue they would never confirm. Similar situation with bendgate where everyone knew and acknowledged other than support staff.
I dunno, maybe apple didn’t expect it but maybe they just could have spotted it before going into production??Its an issue that Apple didn't expect since iPhone 12 Mini is a smaller size and smallest right now which is full screen (iPhone X style) and something to do with adjusting sensitivity to the small sized screen. We should see a fix soon, hopefully everyone will report it through the feedback form. https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Does not work here. Lock screen PIN touch weirdness still persists on my device with screen protector and leather Apple MagSave case. With only one of these components installed (either case OR screen protector) the device works flawless. Can anyone verify if it works with a screen protector and an original MagSafe cover?
Alas I’ve just spent 2.5hours on Apple chat and they don’t seem to know about the issue at all. But have sent this thread and thanks for this thread, all as it is helping me feel I’m not insane!I just sent this thread to Apple chat support. Everyone please do the same so we could potentially get a quicker fix.
Apple just asked me to return my phone...😡Does the mini have a different frame design that the 12 etc? Why is the mini the only phone affected? This is going to stink if it is a hardware problem and we have to return our phones.
Not a gent. But: forced restart does not work, installing 14.2 doesn’t work.hi there,
i just finish my chat with apple support team and seems they don't know for this issue
they only told me to try force restart but i already removed the screen protector
if any one of you gents could try to force restart his iPhone 12 mini and feedback us here if it works fine
thanks
Exactly!!!Lol, someone should do a parody on YouTube on how to unlock an iPhone mini that you must rest a finger on the camera.
It’s pretty ridiculous that this slipped through. You would have thought they test their phones with screen protectors on?
Yeah they must train them to LIE, doesn't matter what the problem with what product you are always the first lol.I hate the old you are the first person to complain palm off
Have just spent the best part of an hour on a chat session with Apple. it ended on the note of ‘you have 14 days to return it’. Not good...
Like everyone else have tried a number of protectors, hard reset the phone, different case combinations and none work as they should.
I was on 14.1 and had the same issue. Apple told me to install 14.2 to solve the issue. And of course...Can we easily downgrade to 14.1 and see if the issue is resolved? If so, I would try it.
I got the same thing from the first Apple adviser I spoke with today After being on the phone for 45mins. I have now had contact with 5 apple support staff today, one of them on the senior team. Latest advice is to Reinstall Apple software using a computer and iTunes. Not completed this step yet because the link in the email that Apple sent me did not work and I have also read that someone else on this thread tried this method and it didn’t work to resolve the issue. The second Apple advisor I spoke to advised me to restore my phone to factory settings and not load my iCloud backup of my old phone. This didn’t work. So had to call back. Move on to The fifth Apple advisor the senior one has advised the Apple iTunes reboot.Apple just asked me to return my phone...😡
No. Not at all. And I’m now on 14.2 and of course no difference. Were they aware of this issue?

Aargh! I have to say the ineptitude on Apple help has made my mental state far worse. I could have coped with the malfunctioning Lock Screen 😬I got the same thing from the first Apple adviser I spoke with today After being on the phone for 45mins. none of them aware of any way issues with regards to other people complaining about this problem although I informed them I had seen others reporting problems online.
At one point I asked to speak to someone else and got out through to their Spanish chat help. Possibly as a punishment.Aargh! I have to say the ineptitude on Apple help has made my mental state far worse. I could have coped with the malfunctioning Lock Screen 😬
