have...case pitaka glass spigen...it not problem & try many same same many time...not problem...kaa:)
So the reason it's working fine for you is because of the Pitaka case. The Pitaka case has cutouts for all the buttons and ports so some part of your finger is touching the iPhone body and that's what's fixing it for you. I put an order in for a Pitaka yesterday and it should be arriving tomorrow.

Does problem occur only on lock screen? If yes then that should be repairable by software update.

Same issue here, lock screen is hit or miss on my mini. Running 14.2

ESR screen protector & apple leather case

I returned my Mini today for a 12. The Lock Screen issue I could probably deal with if it was only a software fix. But I’m not willing to add tin foil or remove my case etc.

I also couldn’t swipe to answer calls either and ended up missing most of my calls while I fiddled and tried to answer the phone. This was the bigger issue for me. It was like the whole screen was dead and unresponsive.

Perhaps next year I’ll consider getting another. The Mini really is my dream phone.

EDIT: So you don't have to read thru all the pages, there is an issue with the lock screen not working properly with both a screen protector and a case. All user seem to have this issue, but Apple has yet to acknowledge the problem.
Please leave them feedback if you're having this issue. Below is the link and a template I made if you don't want to write it yourself:

https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

"There is a problem with the lock screen not detecting presses on the camera, flashlight or anything
unless you press very gently.
Issue only occurs when using BOTH a screen protector and a case.
If you touch something conductive like the frame or the camera lens frame it works
."

Right after I got my iPhone 12 Mini I put on a PanzerGlass screen protector and started using it.
My problem is touch on the lock screen, if i try to use the torch or pause/play music it only respons sometimes.
After i unlock the iPhone touch works great, but on the lockscreen I have to get lucky with the touch to get the response.
Anyone else having this issue?
I am having exact same problem. I have glass screen protector and case on, screen unlock by swiping up only works on occasions. Take case off and it works normal. With case on the flashlight and camera icons don't work. Take case off and both work again. Hopefully a fix will come soon.

That was pretty foolish. They’re going to fix this through software in a couple weeks, most likely.

Here's some insider info, guys - take it or leave it.
The issue is a hardware one (in short - Mini is too small for modern components, and some hacky solutions had to be applied), and it's much more pronounced on lock screen due to protection against butt dials. The flaw was discovered at later stages of production, so the cutout in official silicone case is not a whimsical decision. Apple is preparing a statement currently, and the course of actions is most likely a recall of big batch of Minis. There is a chance they may try to do it in a similar way to iPhone 4 - I don't know the details of this solution, but if they go this way it'd most likely be a case with some conductive parts per customer. I've also heard about probably trying to goad users into not using screen protectors, but that is already well into rumors territory.

Maybe not use a case for a short while and see if Apple can fix the issue.

Use a fingernail.

Obviously there are ways to make it work if need be. It's also perfectly fine for users to make their own choices on whether or not they want to mess with that or not. Some people only have 14 days to wait on Apple as well.

Also, some people use their phones solely as tools, and if a tool doesn't work right, they can revert back to using a tool that does its primary jobs seamlessly.

I think the issue is you have to swipe from the very edge of the phone. On the old phones it was easier because of the curved glass. I currently have the Apple leather case on and it seems to work better but I notice you have to be precise in swiping from the edge of the phone.
Hello! Completely off-topic but with the leather case, does your make a popping noise if you apply pressure to the top corners of the phone? Kinda like pinching the screen and the back of the case? It’s very OCD for me and just wanted to see if it’s a faulty case?

I’ve only used mine for like 5 seconds. I’m using a cheap amazon case as my every day case. I should use the Apple leather case though as I’ve been reading a lot of issues with the case popping off.

I took off my Tottalee case, which works great but has cutouts for the buttons, and put on my Torres case, which has all buttons covered.....also works great.
