What a load of nonsense has been written about the size of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's enourmous! It's on the edge of being too big! It's too heavy! It hurts my pinky! I've been reading things like this for 2 months while waiting for mine to arrive. Now I have it, and I'm wondering what the hell everyone is talking about.

Coming from an iPhone Xr, this device is absolutely not too big. It's only a tad larger. After a few hours I didn't even notice the size difference anymore. And the issues with the pinky? C'mon. Seriously?

It's been well established that on the internet, the flock tends to run with the opinion that was first posted. I'm guessing that's what happened here. Some reviewers said it was too big, and many just went with it.

It's nonsense. Absolute nonsense. This device is awesome.

Not what I want to read, because I do regret not waiting for Max. I don't upgrade often and comming from 6s, I bought the 12 pro to last me for many years 😣. But compared to 6s and Mi Mix 2 (my perfect size and ratio), the aspect ratio is just "wrong" and therefore useable area smaller than expected.

Regarding running with opinion, I think people overrate oled and underrate lcd. Waiting for a oled phone since lusting for Samsung S II, it is a underwhelming experience to finally have it.

Except for the camera it’s a shame it doesn’t do anything different than your XR 😳

I concur, it's not too big at all.

Hope you don't suffer with the overnight battery drain issue, though.

If you do, update to the 10.4 beta. It fixes it.

Everybody's different. Everybody's phone usage is different. Not everyone is on their phone all day everyday. Not everyone watches TV shows and movies on their phone. To these people, such a big device is unnecessary.

I had one plus sized iPhone in the past. Never again. For my usage, there is no reason to carry around a huge phone. I wouldn't swap my Mini straight up for your Max.

Oh yeah, your definition of "only a tad larger" is different than mine. That thing is huge.

Seriously!! You can’t please everyone though. I’ve had my phone since launch day and the weight doesn’t bother me. Plus at work I carry up to twenty iPhones (10 in each hand) to sort them in their appropriate categories and those are heavy. This one phone? Not in the least.

What has been well established is that people found to have the highest belief superiority also tended to have the largest gap between their perceived and actual knowledge.

I didn’t even try the Max this time around. The last Max I tried was the XS Max and it was just too heavy and bulky for me.

I agree. Look at the new Samsung S21 Ultra, it's bigger than the pro max and no reviews complain about that. Take the same website, open the review of the iphone 12 pro max and the samsung s21 ultra anche check how many times they repeat "big", "huge", "massive". It's a nonsense to me too.

it's more how the design is and tight boxy design is different to what the S21 Ultra is in fairness. for me the 12 pro max is big when you are used to bigger phones it's not a big deal. the benefits of having it is worth it.

I wanted to like it (and mostly did) but 1. I live an active lifestyle so a more one hand device works better for me and 2. I do not consume media on it for long periods of time (games, movies, shows, etc.).

So for me, the pro works. Maybe in the future I will give it a shot but I am happy with the slight increase in size (5.8 x - 6.1 pro).

Coming from a XS Max to a 12 Pro Max, it's essentially the same thing when it comes to its size. If you are used to big phones the 12 Pro Max is just that, a big phone.

Hate to sound like a broken record here, but like I've said all along, it's a heavy phone. All the Max versions are. You can argue "premium materials" all you want, I get it, but at the end of the day, it's still a heavy phone. Add a case and whatnot and it's even heavier. That's my only gripe. It's a fantastic phone.

Me, personally. I can’t wait for a 6.9” model.
One of my favorite android devices was the oled equipped huawei Mate 20X with its 7.2” flat screen.

I totally agree with you. I love the big screen real estate but just too heavy for me

I went with the 12 Max since I wanted to have the best possible screen viewing experience to do things like watch youtube videos, browsing forums, surfing of the web, etc without having to bring an iPad with me to work. I haven't had any issues when it comes to the size or weight of the device since I mostly use it when I have 2-hands available.

The fact that it has the best battery life of all the iPhone models is a great plus as well, since in 3 to 4 years when the battery capacities get worn down from their original capacity, 12 Max will still be going strong while the other 12 series models might become annoying in their inability to make it through the entire day or need battery replacements.

I think this all comes down to the size of your hands. If you have large hands, you can feel comfortable using a large phone. Also, if you're someone who's on the go frequently, has a multitude of other devices to consume content on (iPad, Macbook etc) you might value portability over everything else (such as myself). If you don't have a tablet or laptop, the Max might be more appealing as well.

As someone with smaller / average sized hands, the Max is too much for me to deal with regardless of whether I have extra devices or not.

Ok, i read that some of you are ok with the dimensions and some are not
I wonder if on age of iphone 3gs if apple came along with this 12 pro max..i bet everyone call this a huge and heavy brick
But because time made people got used to in size increased little by little..we see this different now
I wonder what big will be big enough for all of you?! An 10” iphone 180x80 dimensions?!
I mean when people will say and vote with their wallets to the tech companies enough is enough?
