I hesitated but now I‘m so glad I went with the Pro Max. It doesn‘t feel as heavy as the numbers would suggest; the weight seems to be very evenly distributed. It‘s only my second „really big“ Phone after the 6S Plus but right now I don‘t think I‘ll go back to a smaller phone. Awesome device and I just love the new „boxy“ design.

It's all opinion, obviously. Personally, I feel the 12 Pro is too big, let alone the Max. Coming from an 11 Pro, the added size of this year's Pro (as miniscule as it was) pushed it well over the line of one handed usability for me. Very happy with my Mini in that regard.

Different strokes for different folks. It's all subjective. For some, yes it's big, for others it's the right size. I came from 6P to 7P to 8P, then to X then the XS Max, 11 PM. I've tried the 12 Pro and that was okay but I preferred something bigger. So I'm used to the Max size.

It’s only slightly taller than the Plus-sized iPhones of the past. If you get used to Reachability with the new design then it’s perfectly fine. I just can’t see them producing a larger phone without it becoming a tablet.

I came this >< close to getting the Max. Honestly, around the house I love the larger screen size. But it wouldn't fit in my pocket well or at all in my car's wireless charger so it was a pass. Definitely wouldn't use a case with it either. It's right on the limit IMO. Agree that I can't see them coming out with something larger without resorting to foldables/iPad line.

You’re absolutely right with this observation. Around the house it feels just right. When out-and-about it does seem a little large in a pocket, which explains why so many people go with the 6.1” size despite the popularity of the Plus-sized phones in the past.

I had begrudgingly decided after last year I would go for the max version, as I wanted something just a little bigger than 5.8", but I played with the 12 Pro Max for a while, and it was just too big for me. The weight doesn't bother me, but one-handed use is more important for me. I also don't really watch videos on my phone longer than a few minutes. The tempting things for me with the max this year were the sensor shift and longer battery life. For the other camera upgrades, they seem to make little difference in the photos I've seen. Plus, when you put a case on it, it almost seems comically large. More work needs to put into making the bezels near zero.

I have a 12 Pro Max. When I opened the box, I was actually disappointed that it wasn't bigger. It is heavy but I wouldn't mind a screen that's even a little bit larger.

It’s the perfect size for me. But for lots of people it’s too big. It’s personal preference and why Apple offer a range of sizes.

Use a Loopy case with a Max iPhone and it will be easier to hold and use than the mini - but still be big in the pocket

7" inch iPhone please with a 5000 mAh battery. 😊
I may have to re-think upgrading if the iPhone get too much bigger. While I don't find the 12 PM heavy or hard to grip, at some point, it might become too difficult for me to use comfortably. Of course, I say this now, however, if the next release is larger, I'll probably be in line to upgrade.:D

I bought the 12 Pro Max on release day and returned it a couple weeks ago for the 12 Pro. I thought I could get used to the size/weight but it never happened. While I miss the screen size, the 12 Pro is far more comfortable to hold with my average sized hands. I also can't really see a difference in camera quality 🤷‍♂️

It's not that different than the 11 Pro Max and still comfortably fits in the front pocket of my pants, no complaints from me, either.

What a load of nonsense has been written about the size of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It's enourmous! It's on the edge of being too big! It's too heavy! It hurts my pinky! I've been reading things like this for 2 months while waiting for mine to arrive. Now I have it, and I'm wondering what the hell everyone is talking about.

Coming from an iPhone Xr, this device is absolutely not too big. It's only a tad larger. After a few hours I didn't even notice the size difference anymore. And the issues with the pinky? C'mon. Seriously?

It's been well established that on the internet, the flock tends to run with the opinion that was first posted. I'm guessing that's what happened here. Some reviewers said it was too big, and many just went with it.

It's nonsense. Absolute nonsense. This device is awesome.

/rant :)
If everyone had the same sized hands, needs, and expectations, your post would have merit. Unfortunately, your post was created using Logical Fallacy for Mac.
