I think most of the size concern is from people who would also consider the 4 Max as too big. So it’s just more of the same.

I would imagine if you have a 4 Max you are not going to be exclaiming “Wow did I make a mistake, this is HUGE”

Just a hunch :D

Yep. The larger screen is nice but redesigned to feel more like a brick. Go figure. And Apple still has no clue to how to use the extra real estate.

My attitude on that is the same as it is toward 5G - it's not necessarily something I need NOW, but before I'm ready to upgrade again, I believe someone will come up with ways to use these features in a way that will make me glad I have them.

Bold opening gambit! Even if we take your statement as a fundamental truth, there is a broader point that remains unsettled: Is the iPhone 12 Professional Maximum both magical and amazing as well? Let us collect our best philosophers to study this question of our time.

I don't know about magical, but Apple has perfected the design, the camera system, integrated best-in-class 5G, and performance that blows everything else away with the world's first 5nm processor in a smartphone. The A14 is a futuristic beast.

Makes me sad the pro Max camera is so much better than the 12 Pro. Now the max is actually the pro pro with great battery life, great camera. But SOO BIGG.

Not that it will ever happen, but I would love to see a standalone Apple DSLR.

Computational photography is something Apple has nailed pretty well, and continues to make great strides.

I seriously wonder what could be done with a full size lens and a reasonable sensor size - things that could never get put into a phone-sized device.

In a lot of ways, Apple gets you the photos you want, while the DSLR cameras on the market today get you the picture you asked for.

Yep intentionally gimp larger devices when space is a premium and allows for better specs. That’s the way it should be done? Lol
Well that’s assuming the difference is because of the bigger size and not an artificial differentiation to upsell people to the more expensive model. Remember when the 6 series plus model got OIS and then the regular 6 had it a year later? Can we really say it was a space issue if the smaller device gets it only one year later?

I would bet that next year they might bring the same camera set up (or at least the improvements that the 12 Max got) to the Pro, using this year as a way to ramp up production. And who knows, they might bump some of the other sensors on the 13 Max in some other way. That said, I feel your pain as I'd rather just be able to choose between size and not camera features on the Pro line.

Having the iPhone Pro 12 and getting the battery replaced on my iPhone X, I was contemplating on going back as I couldn't justify the cost of the iPhone 12 Pro upgrade and its battery life. My partner's 11 pro lasts longer!

After watching these reviews, I'm so glad I've ordered the iPhone Pro 12 Max! Looks like this is the one ... I'll have to get used to the size though!

I'm 6'6" with very large hands. Bring on the Pro Max!! You can't make a phone too big for me! The 12 and lower models all look like little toys in my hands.

If you have small hands and its too large for you you have nothing but options so everyone should be happy.

Clearly the iPad mini is redundant. But Is the iPhone 12 Pro Max SO big that it should have iPadOS on it?

My Apple case for the 12 Pro Max arrived. Holding it in my hand I cant really tell the difference in size from my 11 pro max. The 11 pro max will fit into the 12 pro max case with only a tiny bit of wiggle room. Yes it is bigger but in my hand not all that much
ya its basically the same. reviewers are mainly comparing it to the other sizes. Coming from 11 pro Max basically no difference. Especially if you dont use a case.

His review was terrible honestly. I watched his review last and it lacks a lot of detail and in depth analysis about the differences.
I agree with you.... MBKHD used to get into much more detail. But since he has gotten more popular and has more followers, it seems he has toned things down. He seems to me to be much more middle of the road than anything else.

I would even say that level of detail he used to provide is what built his current rather large following.....
