I think there is quite noticeable difference between G9P and G9N screens where G9N's have almost perfect uniformity but they are a little warmer while G9P's are cooler but uniformity is utter crap. We got 2 new 12 Pro's and one was with N and other with P screen and that P is really horrible in terms of uniformity but N is perfect. I tried to order new one and it also came with P screen that is even worse. But both P-screens are pretty cool, so I guess those who hate warm yellowish screen like them. I'm not just sure if anyone preferring those cooler one have really checked uniformity well enough?

Also anyone got 12 Pro with rear camera serial number starting with G (instead of usual D)?

First two we got were both with rear camera serial starting with D and they seemed equally good but last one came with G serial camera and it is totally different in terms of photo quality and can be easily seen side by side with D serial camera.
Just wondering if those G serial cameras are from some third party vendor with different specs to fill up the void for parts in current situation...?

Please check that with 3u Tools what rear camera serial is in your 12 Pro?
It is listed on the same page where you find OLED-panel serial number.

My rear camera is DN serial number. All my devices were screen serial G9N, one was pink lower half current one is slightly pink top right corner and one had a green tint. I’m being hyper critical with the pink uniformity, in hindsight if I’d known about receiving a scratched frame on my replacement and then a green tint after I would have kept the first one. But alas my last and final one 4th one is acceptable. Still not perfect but then I’ve learned to accept it and move on until the next best thing. Lol

Sorry, I mixed up D and G in my previous post, so the one with D is totally different from two G's.
Please others also list what rear camera serial first letter is?
Especially for 12 Pro (6.1")

Perhaps 6.7" is again different case than 6.1" because in smaller ones N's seem very good and P utter crap?
I know your pain with scratched frame, our 2 out of 3 were scratched and the last one is very good but screen is so bad... This seems never ending battle. Does anyone else find buying Apples these days find it stressful?

Yep never ending battle that I’ve given up on now because my sanity is worth more than $1300. Even my current one has a hairline scratch on the top band very faint and also some discoloration on the top corner in the gold. But that’s it for me now. The last time in my life I ever replaced a phone more then once was with a Samsung galaxy note 4.

I'm returning mine, again, and I'll receive a new one. That will be my fourth. I've decided that if the next one has the same problem, which it'll most likely have (I suspect software issue), then I'll just keep it and wait for an official statement from Apple.

I've talked with eight different people at Apple support, and none of them have heard of this issue.

I bet it is just standard answer they say everytime. It is the same thing as with cars, you never heard service rep. to admit some fault common, it is always the first time they ever hard about that. :D
I guess that is easy way to get rid of some peoples who complain and stich with the one they have...

Yeah, I know it is frustrating after paying this much for a phone and think you would get decent or at least equal screen what you get in fraction of cost Android phone... I've seen several peoples cheap Android phones with OLED screens and never seen any of them suffering from uniformity issues. And I mentiond once again, I'm fine with warm yellowish screen AS LONG AS IT IS EVEN ACROSS THE SCREEN. Nothing is as frustrating as having a screen where different halfs of the screen are different hue. I guess this is thing that 99% peoples don't care, since I've shown my phone to others asking what they think of this problem and the usual reply is "what is it that you think is wrong with this display?". But then when pointing them out what to look for they say, OK yeah I see that, does it bother....? Then those peoples themselves usually have screens perfect when I check their screens. It must be Murphy's law that poor displays find their way to those peoples who care about the quality and perfect ones to those who could not care less.

By the way, easiest way to see uniformity issues fast it to turn on TT and NS and then in NS settings adjust the slider to WARMEST possible so that screen is reddish. Then turn up the brightness to 100% and open up something full screen white. It cannot be missed then.

Maybe try a different store in luck of receiving a new batch. Online vs in store vs Bestbuy etc.

I don't think even that helps. I got another one definitely from different batch and few weeks newer production and things only got worse. It was from the same factory however but so was the good one, so I guess it is pure luck.
There should be hand picked good units for extra price sold, I would be happy to pay extra 100-200 for such!

Haha. And call them “iPhone 12 Pro Max Pro“. Cause it seems like one pro isn’t good enough to give us a quality product 😅

I compared the screen of my iPhone viewing ebay app to my Motorola G power. Made me cry 😂😭 I assured myself the whites aren’t supposed to be white 🤣

I don't think this is accurate and nobody other than the manufacturer actually knows what all that means.
I had G9N display on my pre-ordered 12PM and the screen uniformity was bad, lower bottom was darker than the top, had horrible raised blacks issue and also image retention.

The new 12PM I received has a G9Q Display which is perfectly uniform, no raised black issues and whites looks perfect compared to the old one with G9N.

I'm talking about Pro 6.1" model so the screens are not likely the same in every way and also that G9Q is something new I guess since mostly those G9N and G9P are referred as good and bad Samsung panels. None of the three 12 Pro's 6.1" we have suffered from raised blacks (1 x G9N and 2 x G9P).

Did you check yours for hue uniformity carefully and not just dark bottom?
Most evident it is when you turn the phone sideways with full screen white image and test different brightness levels. Also trying NS especially by adjusting it the warmest level will shows this problem pretty bad if you are sensitive to hue issues.

Yes, I tried it on white background, grey background and dark room, with / without NS (warmest) and / or TT.
Screen is perfectly uniform, no hue issues at all.

OK. Anyway Max has different type of screen, so not really directly comparable to 6.1".

Is this on the iPhone 12 Pro?
As the Pro Max has completely different camera sensor, so I don't think these are related.
Yes, this is 6.1" Pro.

Anyone here actually have 6.1" Pro where rear camera serial numbers starting with G? And I mean camera serial number that you can check with 3u Tools (and not the actual iPhone serial).

just an update the slight uniformity issues out of the box seems to have improved somewhat. Either that or IOS 14.4 did some joojoo or it's in my head. Im satisfied with my display this week more than I was last.

Just waiting for my new 12 Pro to come and I've found this thread. To cut a long story short, I've owned a OnePlus 8Pro a Note 20 and my wife has a S20 and they ALL have raised blacks and green tint to a certain degree . The OnePlus 8 Pro I'm using at the moment is the worst and that's why I'm getting rid of it , I just can't look at it anymore.OnePlus have been promising to fix it with a software update since it was released last March but they never have and have now gone quiet on it. I'm certain there's something hardware wise going with Samsung panels. Anyway ,I'm waiting on my 12 Pro and I'm fairly upset to have found this thread now! I have an old Samsung S8 and the display is much better than the newer phones I have, what on earth is the problem with these newer OLED panels?
