If Weinbach is unreliable, why is MacRumors sharing any sort of possible leaks tied to him? I am excited for promotion displays on the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max. I am probably opting for the Pro.

I think it will function like the iPad's pro motion displays. If that is dynamically adjusting to content, then that's how the iPhone will work. Android has a display refresh rate toggle on some devices.

Ignore the person who wrote this

He is very reliable

We really need iPhones to have a front camera as good as the rear camera in this age of video conferencing.

Not really sure what you do on your video conferences, but the front-facing camera on iPhones is likely more than good enough. It isn't even feasible to stream much more quality to others live anyway. (Not to mention you'll be a small moving thumbnail somewhere, not a big full-screen still picture.)

On top of that, if they make it as good as the rear camera, that presumably means a front bump. Who wants that?

3X Zoom..? Looks like they are trying to play catch-up with Huawei and others who started off with 3X a couple of years ago. Maybe then for 2022 or 2033 they will go to 10X Zoom and say it improved by 300% lol.. Apple should have 30X or 50X and not just 3X

This isn’t particularly specific. Will it ever be consistently running at 120hz?

No...that would be terrible. The iPad Pro varies between 24Hz and 120Hz, depending on the content. I don’t want to watch an old movie I purchased at 120Hz, when 24Hz or 30Hz keeps everything looking cinematic and authentic as the director intended.

There is zero point to run if the phone at 120Hz all the time other than killing the battery quicker.

First, Can’t stand ‘EverythingApplePro’. He over-dramatizes everything.

Yeah he’s awful, as are most of the other big “pro” YouTubers.

If they get access to pre-release review units from Apple for zero-day reviews, that’s the first sign that you need to look elsewhere for independent reviews and advice. That and they seem to be so self-absorbed and constantly feel the need to flex their wealth and privilege. It’s very unattractive. Other offenders include Jonathan Morrison, iJustine, Marques Brownlee, Karl Konrad, and Unbox Therapy (for being loud and annoying) but there are also others.

The ones I like (and I believe they don’t engage with Apple) are Dave Lee/Dave2D, MobileTechReview and Max Yuryev/MaxTech. They’re more focused on the viewer than themselves and do more in the way of testing against the competition. I’m sure there are other decent ones but of the more popular YouTubers, they’re the ones that I like.

After 30x it looks like trash anyway so 30x is more than enough for now

his iphone 11 predictions were wrong (smaller notch, center camera)

I don’t remember that, kuo has been wrong too not like every leaker is 100% right all the time and they don’t need to be to be reliable. He was spot on with all his s20 leaks.

go to his youtube channel and search by "leaks". he's gotten a lot of leaks wrong.

If you are talking about EAP all his leaks weren’t via max....i don’t remember any leaks from max being wrong. A lot of EAP leaks were from other news outlets. He only just started getting leaks from max this year. It’s only this year where max has broke through the leaking game.

Yes. EAP reads leaks from all sorts of people and websites not just Weinbach who he specifically works with. But leaks/rumours from Max Weinbach and Jon Prosser have been very reliable from my experience.

Stronger front camera means less shakier/blurry images, especially in the dark. The front needs OIS, for example.

that’s why MacRumors said he’s unreliable. his previous leak videos directly said things that turned out to be wrong even if the rumors came from someone else. in the smaller iPhone 11 notch leak video, he literally said “this is the new iPhone” and it turned out to be wrong.
