Thanks for the feedback! Was deciding whether it’s worth upgrading or not. Would you say day-to-day tasks are noticeably faster or not really?
It’s quick, for sure, but I never felt like the XS lagged at all. For what it’s worth, my wife can’t notice any difference in her new screen and the XS.

I like that the notch is less wide but I wish it was just slightly less tall. If you watch a video that is a little bit wider like some of the YouTube videos, the old notch did not interfere with it. Now, it is just barely into the video. I would have thought that with Apple’s attention to detail, they would have avoided that.

Not sure if it is the phone 13Pro, or IOS15. Won't pair with my AirPods pro, despite deleting the old pairing. Gone through this routine a dozen times to no avail.
Open to suggestions.

Man, that girl is annoying as hell. Her fame comes from her looks. Sorry to say.
I remember when she was just starting to get famous about a decade ago, and cable networks were trying to cash in on the increasing mainstream appeal of Nerd Culture, FX decided to do a livestream from SDCC cohosted by Justine and someone else that I forget. It was a disaster. She came across as vapid and completely amateur, which is what she was. Her segments took things to an entirely new level of cringe. Like that TikTok "star" E tried to turn into a Red Carpet reporter a couple months ago with hilarious results, turns out trying to treat 'tubers and 'tokers like seasoned broadcast personalities is a really bad idea.

I had this issue with Beta 2. Had to delete the Pro's from my iCloud account completely, removing it from all my devices, before I could finally get it to successfully pair with my just updated phone.

I picked up my 13 mini this morning. There were only 7 people in line about a half-hour before the Apple Store opened, and I was number 4. I was ushered into the store right when it opened and got my phone within a few minutes. When I left the store, no one was in line. So although others apparently aren't excited about this release, I'm quite happy. My new mini has a bigger battery, smaller notch, better camera and better cellular radio. If it turns out to be true that Apple will be discontinuing the mini, this iPhone will have to tide me over for quite a while. If they do continue making the mini, the 13 should still last me for quite a while.
I am not sure where you are located but Chicago's Lincoln Park location was packed. Line was half way down the side of the building. That was for those of us who pre-ordered. There were people who were waiting in line to see if they had any phones available. I was inside the store a good 2 and a half hours because of an activation issue with AT&T. The line did not shrink and that was at 7:30PM when I left.

I’ll tell you what’s “boring”. People who say this year’s iPhone upgrade is “boring” and the OWC advertising send-off at the end of these videos.

People expect the new-iPhones event every year. It’s not surprising if upgrades don’t reinvent the iPhone every year. Saying it’s “boring” is “very boring”.
I try to reason with people but they do not listen. "Not every phone release is aimed at you!" They have a Pikachu face and continue to grumble.

I do find myself somewhat bemused when someone states that a phone is boring, it’s a phone and also does some internet stuff, takes photos, maybe a bit of gaming and a whole lot of functions for a broad number of work industries. Sure it’s an attractive device and it works well and it carries a form of fashion to it but it’s not exactly a skydive, or a live show, or buying yourself a high performance vehicle and doing a tribute to Bullit.

Porsche 911 is boring. Looks just like last year and the year before, right :)

Have iPhone 12 mini and bought an iPhone 13 mini as upgrade today.
I’ve run through tests and I’m surprised that I haven’t found any compelling improvement in the 13 to make it worth the upgrade.

I’ve taken a bunch of photos in the dark and find the overall photos look better on the 12 over the 13 despite the bigger sensor. Night video might be slightly better on the 13 but in general the difference is barely noticeable.
I ran CPU and GPU benchmark and the 13 was a whopping 3% faster.
the display is brighter but barely noticeable.
I have not run a battery test. My 12 is already down to 92% capacity.

There are new camera capabilities, including a Macro mode. It's fun to play around with, but will have limited use in the real world.
During the pandemic, dermatologists often ask patients to email in photos of suspected precancerous and cancerous lesions on the skin so they can triage who actually needs to come into the office for treatment or not.

Yes, no-one ever takes photos of tiny things. Big things only! Tiny things worthless! </sarcasm>

Maybe this is a non-issue for some, but the only way I can charge the phone is via my computer since all my chargers are the old USB plug. So not including a charger on a premium phone seems asinine. I was against the EU mandating the charging plugs at first, but maybe that's what is needed.
Um, wireless charging? The only place I ever plug in my phone is the car.

Sooooooo... you're saying that we went from a really, really good phone to a really, really REALLY good phone?? (Isn't that like the same thing that happens with every new iteration of the iphone?

This is the one thing that I dislike about Apple engineering - They are evolutionary, not revolutionary; and sometimes, the evolution seems to happen at a glacial pace. Every now and again, I just wanna jump out of the car and push, ya know?!

Figured I’d give my thoughts on upgrading to a 13 Pro from an iPhone X: phenomenal upgrade, and I think if more people waited even 2 years instead of 1 (or 4 like I did this time), they’d be much more excited about what’s being offered.

Coming from iPhone X to a 13 Pro :

-The cameras alone are worth the money if, like me, you use them constantly. Low light images are just so much better. More accurate colors, the ultra wide has me spoiled and the increase in front-facing cam resolution is welcome.
-ProMotion makes the X feel old. It really makes a nice difference and makes scrolling and sliding through content feel ultra crisp.
-Every single thing feels faster. I haven’t been able to get it to lag or slow down yet. Go Bionic!
-The slight overall size increase makes it feel pretty much perfect. More screen real estate, and the tiny difference in notch size is a little noticeable. Can’t wait for the battery percentage to show again lol.
-My X routinely overheated, even when doing very low-power tasks. I think the double stacked logic board, coupled with newer more demanding software on an old chip, made for a hot combo. Could fry an egg on that thing. I’m working this Pro hard on day one and while it gets a little warm, it never gets hot.
-5G can be pretty cool! Downloaded my photo library shockingly fast. Keep your expectations toned, it’s not everywhere and sometimes it doesn‘t feel any faster than LTE but hey, it’s a thing.
-Build quality feels amazing as ever. I love how heavy it feels, it’s solid and feels like it’ll handle heavy abuse.
-The screen gets waaaaay brighter, especially outdoors, and I love that. More usable in direct sunlight.
-And the big one: MAJOR improvement on battery life, which is extra impressive considering my phone will probably be indexing things for a few days using background power. It held up to my first full day without dying, and that’s pretty sweet

Those are my Day 1 thoughts. I absolutely love my 13 Pro, I think most people coming from X or older will be extremely impressed with how far the hardware has come. Let the haters hate, I’m extremely glad I upgraded and think I’ll be happy with it for several years, and I hope y’all who grabbed one will be too!

Upgraded from an Xs to a 13 Pro yesterday.

Physically it is a little wider but the effect is emphasised by the squared off edge rather than the rounded design of the Xs.

I knew the cameras were more prominent but I expected that to be masked by the case, instead it has a lip to protect them. Obviously there are good reasons for this but it it is very noticeable. No doubt I will get used to the changes, but it doesn't feel like the slick design we usually get from Apple.

The display is gorgeous and performance is great.
