iPhone 13 mini, after the first week with the worse battery life I had ever seen, I suddenly noticed an increase in battery life, so today Itried to put it to the test, It shows 6h27 but that is considering yesterday too, so I manually calculated the use based on the blue bars: 7:43 AM to 3:30 PM 25% left, 5,6h Screen on time, 1h Screen off on 4g, dual sim and with an Apple Watch and airtag connected. For a phone who was struggling to get to 3 and a half hours just some days ago...

Something strange happened yesterday. I managed to end the day at 75% with 2hr screen time between 8am-11:30pm on my 13PM…normally this would result in 40-50% battery as it would drain 3-4% every hour without doing anything…not sure what I did to significantly increase my standby time all of a sudden.

Removing the AirTag didn't help the much with autonomy, my friend with a same 13P still does a lot more than me.

Did anyone exchange the phone and had better results with a new one? Not thinking about contacting Apple yet, because usage can change a lot from user to user. But just wondering. Looks like there are 50% of 13P users with great battery, and 50% which complain of power hungriness.

I had this problem, but mine is a mini, fast battery drain while doing absolute nothing with screen locked. Since some days ago it got significanttly better, from 2h30 of screentime use now I managing to get 5h30 on youtube in 4G. The drainage in stand-by persists, I will wait for IOS 15.2 to see if they fix the battery problem people seen to be having on the 13 line otherwise I might contact apple.

Heh, my standby drain is not bad, like 1% per hour, or 2. It's just regular use that drains it a lot.

Mine drains like 3-6% per hour on locked sreen.
And there is no app running in background? Do you have an Apple Watch and/or keep the phone away from you? Do you use the Find My network?

Yes to booth apple watch and airtags plus dual SIM, that's why I'm finding impressive that it's managing to get 5h screen-on time on average now using 4G.

I thought my battery had been doing better (around 8 hours usage) the past couple of days, but suddenly today is the worst it’s ever been. I was sitting in the cinema for 3 hours at 5-8 so not using my phone at all, and that’s when the battery dropped the most. The only app showing up in those periods is Find My, but I don’t think that is the culprit.

Actual screen on time for me since waking up today is 1h33m and I’m down to 28%…

Maybe Find My found out a lot of Apple devices in the cinema and started working like crazy...

It’s crazy how much camera portrait mode and cinematic video mode eats the battery. Probably the real time background blurring is very CPU intensive. Churned 2% in a minute, and a couple % the next few minutes. I think you can kill the battery 100% to 0% this way in an an hour or two if you want

Am at 28%. I think this is pretty impressive!

Out of curiosity, I've been logging battery usage this week on my 13 mini, weird thing is that it's getting better by the day, each day I was getting more screen time than before, probably me figuring what use more or less battery (impressive that gamming consume less than youtube), also, I stopped everyday when it was at 25% as do to not discharge it too low without need and logged the values, 6h average SOT for 75% battery discharge , more os less 10% discharge per hour on 4G, that means that if I got all the way to 10% or less probably I would manage a little bit more than 7h SOT, almost 8h, thats with youtube in a intensive usage scenario.

The iOS Podcast app seems to be a massive battery drainer for me as well. Like 6% battery gone in 20 minutes of listening to a podcast on speaker with the screen turned off. Not good.
This is interesting. I have the same issue with PocketCasts for podcasts. Listening to that (downloaded content) seems to drain battery a lot. Much more that even streaming from Apple Music for similar amount of time....

Can anyone comment on this unusual behavior? iPhone 13 Pro, have Reset Network Settings, Restored from Backup, removed AirTag from account, and Reset All Settings, over the course of several days. After the final reset, my overnight battery loss was 12% from 100-88%. The attached images show the battery graphs. The next night I charged to 100% are repeated. iPhone reported still 100% in the morning (from 01:30 to about 7:30), with again no apps identified as using battery....
