Had an interesting situation regarding the battery life on my 13 Pro Max. My launch day silver 13 Pro Max has had amazing battery life since the first day I set it up. I had been using Dark Mode all the time. I wanted to see how the battery life would be if I switched to using Like Mode. After a day, I found the battery life to be about the same. I switched back to using Dark Mode and for some reason my battery life started taking a nose dive. I was getting about 8 hrs when I normally would get about 12 hrs or more. It was very strange and I could not understand why it was happening. I performed a Reset All Settings and it seems my great battery life has returned. Sometimes these things can be very fragile.

So Mini users can expect around 6 ish hours of SOT with data on from a full charge.
Almost exactly what I got today with:
- LTE only (about 95% of the day was on WIFI)
- most of the system settings locations turned on
- Siri learning from only the Core Apple apps (no 3rd party)
- low-power mode turned OFF (so regular battery/power mode)
- Apple Watch on all day
- No Apple tracker dots whatever thingies
- Dark Mode is always on. Gotta take advantage of that OLED ;)

The first image is from today with the above conditions.

The second image shows what the 10 day average is for screen on, and the red line marks just above the 50% mark, so with 3hr15min SOT, it makes sense that a not completely accurate visual average of all the green bars is around 50%.

*I also did tests with 5g auto and LTE (two days and two days), and there wasn't really any difference between battery usage/SOT for the four day total. It's in another thread I posted..... I could dig it up if anyone is interested, but real quickly the days are M,T on 5gauto, and W,Th on LTE.

**Also, I'm testing the normal battery mode now and only had today (F) with Low-Power OFF; the other nine days from the 10 day history are with low-power mode ON, so I can report back here after running another day of low-power OFF on Monday (so I keep the same at-work conditions as I did today).

6 Hours SOT is great! The 11 was overkill. It wasn't long enough to be a comfortable two day "don't worry about it"... it was more like 1.5 days, which was a nuisance because I'd either be home or at work when it was time to recharge, instead of just one dedicated charge place. This 13 mini is I think just about perfect for one day "don't worry about it" usage.

I’m finding it interesting that after running my 13 mini in low power mode for the last few days, how little difference I’ve noticed today in terms of battery drain with it not in low power mode. its literally just given me the 20% warning, at 8pm after coming off charge at 100% at 6:35am.
I don’t think that’s to bad for the little phone.
my finding today exactly. I've been in Low power mode for the past ten days, and got just about the same SOT when I turned it off today. (you can see my full findings a few posts above.... maybe even above this post, ha.)

Did you restore from a backup afterwards?

The more I read threads around, here or on reddit or in other forums, the more it seems there are almost two kinds of 13 Pros out there. Half people rave about the battery life, half complain about poor battery. I average 6 hours of SoT so I consider mine poor in regular use, as I said a friend of mine with similar apps uses half the battery. Very curious what this could be. Maybe it's not faulty batteries, but maybe some A15s consume more power than others under the same conditions (there are probably more than one manufacturer of the same chip with slightly different technologies, as it happened on previous iPhones)

This makes sense. I get decent battery life from my Pro Max but nothing like some. I’ve seen people say they get 7hrs SOT on half the battery. I get around 5 at 50%

When you say “SOT”, do you mean Screen on & off Time or just Screen on Time?

After Reset All Settings you haven't lost any data, so a restore would be redundant. Are you guys confusing the resets?

Restoring from a backup after Reset All Settings would put back most of your settings that were just cleared.
Sorry, I did not restore from backup. I was thinking about Recovery Mode. My bad. To be clear, I did Reset All Settings and not restore from backup afterwards.

Well I tried a reset all settings too today. But drop of battery while using apps seems significant as before, we'll see. The more I see my friend's stats with the same phone the more I think there are quite a bit of lower than average lasting 13Ps out there, like mine.

Also I activated the trial of Coconut battery but in wifi I can't find the battery discharge rate anywhere

Wow, Coconut trial was eye opening. Idle discharge rate is around 0,5W. Using a 3D game was around 2,2W. Slowly browsing safari was around 0,6W, but fast scrolling was 1-2W. Browsing Instagram is between 0,8W and 1,5W, with spikes of 2,5W. As expected, taking pictures is harsh, 4,17W.

Anyway today was a good day, mostly because I charged mid-day and had Wi-Fi for a good portion of the day.

My weekly graph still varies wildly, with better and worse days. 99% LTE though, and 1 hour of calls on average daily (and that make screen time go up even if the screen is off, I noticed).

iPhone 13 mini, after the first week with the worse battery life I had ever seen, I suddenly noticed an increase in battery life, so today Itried to put it to the test, It shows 6h27 but that is considering yesterday too, so I manually calculated the use based on the blue bars: 7:43 AM to 3:30 PM 25% left, 5,6h Screen on time, 1h Screen off on 4g, dual sim and with an Apple Watch and airtag connected. For a phone who was struggling to get to 3 and a half hours just some days ago...
Like really? I'm looking for a longterm usage of the mini with dual sim and not many users are here with that specific usage. Based on my experience with 12 mini without dual sim, only with one sim, I'm worried to buy 13 mini again. And because I don't want to deal with buying new phone next year and would like to stick with iPhone at least 2-3 years, I'm more into buying regular 13 even despite I'm quite fine with mini size. I'm getting around 3-3,5hours daily on 12 mini (no dual sim, only 4G, light and dark mode based on the part of the day, no gaming or YT videos, only phone calls, messages, Twitter and Safari). Do you think that is really OK to go with mini and do a full day with dual sim with no problem?

*edit. Oops sorry, you were interested in dual sim.

I get ~6 hours of SOT with the 13 mini (if interpolated from my usual daily usage)

Usually on my working days (and my days off, apparently, too) I get ~3 hours of SOT for 50% battery usage. You can see my detailed usage a few posts above.

For me, that’s a very comfortable “all day use” smartphone.

Thanks anyway for this input. I do looking for an answer about dual sim because even with one sim 13 mini should be much better than 12 mini. And I know that with 13 mini I could live up easily, but with those dual sim (which are coming soon) it will be tough day with 12 mini at all.

First week battery life was terrible, maybe indexing, after that it got pretty good, considering that I have it on youtube almost all day while I do work on a area with bad 4G coverage for both sims and no wifi and I'm getting 5-6h SOT in this heavy usage scenario, On weekends in my house with wifi and checking reddit one time or another it lasts all day with no problems. also I don't know how to quote it, but check my last post on the page before where I did a almost week long logging of the battery so you can check how it behaved on the week with diferrent apps, only real change I did to save battery was activating low power mode at 35% instead of 20% and dark mode with dark wallpaper, but all notifications and location services where on.

Thank you for your reply. I think that's really nice battery usage on mini after all. It's just something I feel that I will regret later. For example I always loved light theme and I never used to turn on low power mode. I really started to use it while I got 12 mini. Before that I always go to bed with 30-35%, almost never got under 30% before bedtime. With mini, sometimes it's no problem. For example today was very light day. Still I used 1,5hour of SOT but 12 mini sits at 51%. And I use only one sim right now. So I think that 13 mini wouln't be as good for me when I will be using dual sim. And I don't want to deal with battery problem in a year from now. Because 88% of battery health on the mini after a year, is very bad, I guess. And despite I know 13 mini would be much better, I just don't see any scenario where 13 mini could beat it after year or two in the same fashion.
