Have you noticed anything fixed in 15.3 that was broken in 15.0-15.2? The one issue I am still waiting to see get fixed is the touch registration issue, the issue where iOS is not always reacting when the displayed touched. The other issue that I am waiting to get fixed is with the Music app, intermittently a random song will be selected and put in Now Playing in Control Center. The only work around is to delete the Music app and install a new copy from the App Store. Beyond those 2 things, I am pretty happy with my 13 Pro Max on the whole.
The now playing. Like the attached ? Yes , randomly it changes by itself still. So no change it would appear. Forgive my battery level. Probably the second time since ownership I charged over 83%. 😂

Not sure if it was my imagination but sometimes when scrolling website via safari I’ve noticed a possible touch sensitivity issue when using my right thumb. But it’s occurred perhaps a few times yet it might be my imagination. I say this because I wasn’t aware of any issues regarding touch until you mentioned it.

Damn about the Music app. I have had that issue since iOS 12. And until recently, I had no work around for it. Apple suggested that I delete the Music app from my phone and install a fresh copy for the App Store. I did that and it has resolved the issue most of the time. Enough that I can relax about the issue until it is fixed.

The strange thing about the touch registration, I find that if I have had my phone asleep for maybe 10 mins and I tap the screen to wake it up, most of the time it requires a second tap. I can see the issue in Safari where if I press an object on the screen, it highlights it as if it is recognizing the press but it seems to require a second press.

Now this is the really weird thing about the touch registration. Sometimes now, since installing iOS 15.2, I will have my finger close to the display, and a touch is registered even though I have not actually pressed my finger on the display. This one I can't reproduce, it happens sporadically. I have read other posters complaining about the *no touch* touch registration. Up until recently, I have not experienced that.

The only issue that is very annoying for me is the Music app deciding to pick a random song, ready to play. When that happens and I connect my phone to CarPlay, the song starts playing on the car sound system. I have had that issue since iOS 12. I have a work around for this issue, before Apple suggested to re-install the Music app, I purchased for $0.99 a 10 minute silent track. I would have that track started and paused when I connected my phone to CarPlay.

There’s nothing worse than getting your car and a song that you don’t like gets played 😂🤮

Wifi or LTE?

I think the best autonomies are attainable with intensive use, with little standby. Standby doesn't add up to SoT but still uses battery. I rarely need to use the phone for more than 2h a day, using a Mac is so much more productive and pleasurable.

Anyway, battery use is pretty much the same after setting up the phone as new. around 6h SoT over 24h of standby. But it's true that I have an iMac at home, and I work from home, so maybe the phone is connecting to the Mac for continuity, and that takes a toll (no, it doesn't connect to finder over WiFi). In fact I noticed more autonomy when I was in a hotel on a trip. Food for thought.

Edit: oh, the offline mode was a Shortcuts bug. If I put manually it in airplane mode it stays so. If I automate it it didn’t work. But it did before. I deleted and created the automations again, let’s see

90% on wifi

I am already at 84% today so the idea came to late now. I will test LTE only after the next charge and see how much of a difference it is.

My battery has been getting crushed by Siri or the find my app. Both of them are causing pretty significant battery drain. This was happening on 15.2 as well as 15.3 beta.

What do you have paired to your phone? Maybe try unpairing all of the devices, Reset All Settings and work on only pairing one device at a time to see if it is causing excess battery drain.

iPhone 13 Pro Max
iOS 15.2
5:28, 37% battery used. I am loving the improved battery life in iOS 15.2. I charged yesterday at about 4pm and have only used 37% battery. I am really getting 2 full days on 60% battery. I follow the 80/20 charging rule.

The thing is if you let that screen chart go on for over a certain amount of time it’ll show a lower screen on time. Understand what I’m saying ?

Yes I understand. That is why I manually calculate the battery usage. I don't go by what iOS is showing.

Mine showed more hours before but as the X axis shifts the time reduces. I’m not referring to the calculation of screen on time when plugged in either. It’s effectively not calculating my screen on time prior to around 9pm.
PS apologize for the Facebook usage. I rarely use that app or charge to 93%.

Yeah but how can you manually calculate when the chart ends or rather starts from a certain time one can’t see further. Or do gig write it down when you unplug ?

Another My Chart user lol.
I do see exactly what you are saying. Of course, this is all just an estimate anyway.

It is a moving 3 hr window and what is shown is always based on the current 24 hrs. So when you fill up the last 3 hr window, the window moves and the last 3 hr window starts filling up again.

I thought and am under the impression when it moves it removes as well the screen on time usage that’s no longer visible on the chart. Graph.

Here’s my point. Same device hasn’t been charged since my last screen shot and the screen on time is gone down.

I really do understand. It is not possible to get an exact battery life figure. It is always going to be an estimate. I generally only pay attention to the first 24 hours when I calculate my battery life.

Good morning. Is this normal? I just woke up and checked how it charged last night. For same reason all the battery history is gone. Disappeared. Did it happen to anyone else?
