View attachment 1939531Good morning. Is this normal? I just woke up and checked how it charged last night. For same reason all the battery history is gone. Disappeared. Did it happen to anyone else?
If there was a reset of settings that could reset the battery usage information. Check Settings->Privacy->Analytics & Improvements->Analytics Data. There might be a log file indicating an issue.

Nothing that would indicate any issue. It happened between 3-4am based on when the stats are starting now and all the files i can find by searching 2022-01-06 have date stamps at 2 am, except one that is at 5am. All of them have "action taken - none" ?

Yes this is perfectly Fine. This is the doing of Optimized Battery Charging, it takes a few weeks to analyse your routine and then starts optimised charging according to that. What happens is that the phone is charged to 80%, and then is kept at the same level till about an hour or so before to you wake up, to charge the remaining 20%. This is done in order to keep your battery at optimum health, rather than keeping it at 100% charged for an extended period of time.

So basically your charts changed from regular charging data to optimized charging data.

I personally have to experienced it with my phone, probably because my waking up routine is not constant.

Interesting. I don't use optimized battery charging. I use a HomeKit smart plug and a Shortcuts Automation script.

I have been facing battery issues since the day is setup my phone. Initially I was getting 3-4 hours of screen on time along with a lot of standby drain, so i contacted apple support over the phone, and they ran a diagnostic and found no issue. On my repeated complaints they routed me to the Apple service center near where I stay. They ran another diagnostic and found no issue. On my request they kept my phone for a day to use it and check for the battery Drain issue, and confirmed that the battery was draining faster than normal and Created a ticket for further diagnosis.

Here in India, Apple only has Authorized service centers that check phones and send the ones with reported issues to a Apple owned service center in Bangalore ( 1800 kms from where i stay), where the Apple technicians check the phone on request of the Authorized Service Center and repair (Not Replace the defect).

The Apple service center in Bangalore, checked my phone and found no issue, but reinstalled iOS just incase. I was very pissed, because i had not spent so much money to run around just to get decent performance from my phone.

I got the phone back in a couple of days and restored it completely using iCloud, the issue seem to have improved, but only slightly. I was not getting 4-5 Hours SOT.

Read a lot of forums and contacted apple support and they suggested I restore my device using iTunes. Also read through a lot of forums and from there took a hint that the NEWS Widget might be draining battery as well, so removed that too. My battery performance improved slightly more and Now I get about 6 hours SOT, but all this is with very light usage and nothing intensive.

The usage charts can be misleading because they include screen on time while on charge. Also, Instagram drains most of my battery, while WhatsApp keeps running in the background continuously. Also a lot of notifications tend to turn on the screen continuously so I have turned to scheduled summary.

But the Battery performance is no where close to what i have seen in benchmark tests, and one of the main reasons why I bought this phone. I am hoping that the phone does its initial few days of setting up, analyzing usage and doing AI and ML things get back to optimal performance.

But optimised charging has nothing to do with the fact that my battery stats completely reset as if i factory reset the phone, right?...

Wifi or LTE?

I think the best autonomies are attainable with intensive use, with little standby. Standby doesn't add up to SoT but still uses battery. I rarely need to use the phone for more than 2h a day, using a Mac is so much more productive and pleasurable.

Anyway, battery use is pretty much the same after setting up the phone as new. around 6h SoT over 24h of standby. But it's true that I have an iMac at home, and I work from home, so maybe the phone is connecting to the Mac for continuity, and that takes a toll (no, it doesn't connect to finder over WiFi). In fact I noticed more autonomy when I was in a hotel on a trip. Food for thought.

Edit: oh, the offline mode was a Shortcuts bug. If I put manually it in airplane mode it stays so. If I automate it it didn’t work. But it did before. I deleted and created the automations again, let’s see

One thing i noticed compared to wifi, on 4g the phone gets so warm....
Not hot, but certainly warm, close to discomfort.

Oh, maybe with TikTok? I guess it exchanges a lot of data, and that can contribute to heat more so than CPU usage

Is nothing like the android version. Actually, in my opinion, all the apps are on another level. I dont use many, but the basics YT, FB, TikTok, Golf Rivals are running smoother on IOS. Should i even mention the upload quality on IG compared to android?

Yeah can believe the apps being more superior on iOS but I was originally referring to bad battery drain when using TikTok app on android. What’s the drain like on iOS for that app?

If you were running on 4g, this would be it. On wifi I remember is way better. TikTok is not really draining. Is just running. Smooth. Like butter 😎

Got 7.5 hours screen on time for 40% battery usage. Standby was 23 hours. Unfortunately I waited too long to take the screen shot of usage and it went down to 6.5 hours as per attached. But it was 7.5 hours.

I have been using 13 pro for nearly 11 days and I feel like the battery is a bit underwhelming. Is there something wrong?

Hello there...
So you've already found one of the main reasons your battery is draining: Instragram. Let me tell you that Facebook (or Meta -.-) has the worst apps on the market since ever. In the beginning the Facebook app was draining battery although everything was turned off.
Their code is a mess.
So regarding the draining: turn off "background refresh" for both Whatsapp and Instagram. You don't need it. You will still get notifications. The thing that will change is that you open Instagram and it will refresh your timeline then instead of preloading everything every minute.
The same goes for Whatsapp. Most people don't need their messenger to preload pictures and stuff. I've even turned off automatically saving pictures and videos because of the amount of memes I get.

Read this and decide what you really need. One of the main battery drains is background refresh and I see that Instagram is on your list. You don't need background refresh to get notifications. It's just preloading stuff. This needs a lot of power.

Is this the Pro Max?
