Probably a significant number of people with an 11 Pro, XS, maybe even an X think they can wait until a notch-less 14 Pro (or with a small pill cutout for FaceID) comes out in 9 months. Probably a good number of people are also a little superstitious with the number 13. They’ll also get a massive camera upgrade so why not wait another 9 months for an iPhone that will look different immediately to others.Good! People are waiting for iPhone 14 now, it’s simple as that.
I even own a 13 Pro Max and think it's a minor upgrade over a 12. Let's not kid ourselves here, there's no massive changes. Heck even the photos I take look almost identical to the 11 Pro it replaces, admittedly I'm no professional photographer.
You lrobably have a point there, the oeop,e that wanr this years model now, has probably allreafy pre ordererd/ got theirs, and now that the rouner mill has started up aboute a 5G iPhone SE early next year peopke that want a 5 G iphone but can't afford, ir wont (for any reason whats so ever) spend the money for a top tier iphone might just hold off until they can get the upgrades SEMakes sense. Minor “upgrade” from a 12. Plus people may be opting for lower cost iPhone models as well.
If only the lead time for the new MacBook Pro would improve. I’m waiting till late January till mine arrives.
Apple has informed some of its component suppliers that demand for the iPhone 13 models is slowing ahead of the holidays, reports Bloomberg. Reports of weakening demand come as delivery estimates for the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have started to improve, with the devices available to ship before Christmas.

Apple in October cut 2021 iPhone 13 production by as many as 10 million units because of industry wide chip shortages. Apple was planning to produce 90 million iPhone 13 models in 2021, but Broadcom and Texas Instruments were unable to deliver enough components.
According to Bloomberg, Apple was aiming to make up the shortfall in 2022 when supplies improve, but Apple has now informed vendors that it may not end up getting the necessary orders from customers.
During Apple's fourth quarter earnings call in October, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the supply constraints on iPhones, iPads, and Macs had already cost Apple around $6 billion, and that the supply issues would continue into December.
At launch, available iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models sold out quickly, and for a good month after launch, there were long lead times on shipments. Cook said during the call that Apple was "working feverishly" to boost iPhone 13 supplies, and it appears that stock is now catching up with demand.

Those upgrades are very minor when compared to the specs of the iphone 12 and as such it should not warrant going from iphone 12 to iphone 13, in my opinion.Owned all three, you’re wrong; big upgrade in some very important areas, especially display, battery, camera, and general performance
Makes sense. Minor “upgrade” from a 12. Plus people may be opting for lower cost iPhone models as well.

I am one of those 8Plus owners who will not upgrade. And why? We are still in the middle of a pandemic with mask wearing requirements and having Touch ID makes far more sense than Face ID for my personal use case.Very true. The 13 is a minor upgrade year-over-year from the 12. I'll go as far to say you shouldn't upgrade to a 13 if you already have a 12.
But... how many of the billion iPhones out in the world are actually last year's 12 series? Not that many.
There are still PLENTY of iPhone 11, Xs, X, 8, etc out there whose owners could upgrade to the 13.
iPhones are pretty good these days and can last a long time. Hardly anyone is replacing an iPhone after just one year... and even two years is becoming rare.
So remember that the next time someone says "this new iPhone isn't much different than last year's iPhone"
It's not for them.

Then: the 8 Plus is fast enough for me. For photos: the 13 is not that of a compelling upgrade. Still only 12 MP. For day to day usages my 8 Plus will take ok pictures. If I need better quality ones, I will take my DSLR and enjoy the process of photography. For what it is, the 13 is way too expensive IMHO.
Count me into the dry skin brigade.TouchID nostalgics for sure are a vocal minority. Kinda like “Mini phone” aficionados (then, when Apple finally makes a Mini phone, people make Apple retire it because of disappointing sales).
Anybody else appreciates the sheer convenience of FaceID.
ps: people with a dry skin cannot use TouchID, so that’s FaceID or passcode for them (source: I’m one of them)
Sounds like someone didn’t get it on launch daySteaming pile of ?
Same in my area, which, despite all attempts I've had at talking myself into keeping my 11PM, finds me YET again thinking.....what the hell, maybe get it and then get the 14PM in a year anyway. The delivery time - on Pro, ProMax models sure dipped in my area. It was 3-4 even 6 weeks about one week ago. Still 8-15 days...but better.
