That's very interesting. Even with supply shortages the demand seems to be waning.

What if Apple is so good at securing contracts with suppliers that they’re able to overbook iPhone orders even during a supply shortage. On purpose, to have wiggle room. And then scale them back if needed.

Right here is minus 2 iPhone 13 sales for Apple. Was going to take 2 perfect condition XRs to T-Mobile for the $800 credit for each XR for 13 purchases.

Then I read the horror stories of T-Mobile giving a fraction of the $ promised for the trade-ins. Sometimes denying any $ at all.

It was a hard hell no after that. Will wait and see where the chips fall next year.
I actually went from a 13 Pro to an iPhone Xr. (The display on the 13 Pro was triggering migraines). Where I notice a difference is in call quality and low light photos, and of course I miss 3x zoom and what that means for portraits). Other than that, I don't actually feel much of a difference in day to day, even going from 512 gb storage to 64gb. I don't have reliable 5g service where I live, so I'm fine without the 5g modem. It's a battery hog in my experience, anyway. When I miss having advanced camera features, I use my Pixel 6 Pro. I do think the 13 Pro took beautiful portraits. I hope it works out for you to get an iPhone 14 or whatever you want to upgrade to next year. I'm hoping to upgrade to an iPhone 11 in the spring for more storage.

If demand is weakening then why is every single store in a 3 state radius constantly sold out??

TouchID nostalgics for sure are a vocal minority. Kinda like “Mini phone” aficionados (then, when Apple finally makes a Mini phone, people make Apple retire it because of disappointing sales).

Anybody else appreciates the sheer convenience of FaceID.

ps: people with a dry skin cannot use TouchID, so that’s FaceID or passcode for them (source: I’m one of them)

I agree

I gave my GF my 11 Pro Max when I got my 13 Pro Max and her coming from an 8 plus swore she would never leave Touch ID behind but it only took less than a week and she said she’ll never go back

And the Mini came to late for me and some others I would suspect as I was a 5-5s-SE lover but then the iPhone X came

I believe if Apple could have pulled off a two device offering iPhone X-Mini and iPhone X at 6.1 at that critical time they wouldn’t have lost the aficionado mini crowd because who goes up in size doesn’t always want to come down

No reason for me to upgrade from my 11; it works great and is still in great physical condition. About the only thing I might do is get a battery replacement eventually. My battery is down to 89%, my wifes is at 80%.

This is good information. One the 13s was going to be a Pro going to my wife, where the flash from a camera can trigger a migraine for her. Thank you. 👍

I even own a 13 Pro Max and think it's a minor upgrade over a 12. Let's not kid ourselves here, there's no massive changes. Heck even the photos I take look almost identical to the 11 Pro it replaces, admittedly I'm no professional photographer.
Yeah.... New 13 Pro owner here (coming from an XS Max) and I'd say even that many versions behind? This new 13 Pro isn't THAT big an upgrade overall. I mean, yes - it takes better photos and video, and that's a reason I upgraded. Also yes to 5G support - but that's a mixed bag for me so far. Finding a lot of situations where the phone says it has a 5G signal w/T-Mobile yet Internet isn't working at all, or has long lags before anything starts sending/receiving. (Not the phone's fault -- but just an issue with 5G not being completely rolled out yet.)

It's "faster" and has things like the Lidar sensor I didn't have in the XS Max ... but none of this really makes the daily experience of using the phone a MAJOR improvement or change.

I wonder if we are reaching "Peak Phone". That is there are only so many features you can add to a phone and use, and those are already there. So, the fanbois and girlz will still buy, but everyone else does not see the need.

FWIW, regarding supply and demand, a relative cracked her 11 Max Pros screen and decided to get a 13 Mac Pro Max. Delivered in 2 days.

Aaaand we’re back above 164$ in the after hours.
Press F to pay respect to the poor souls who sold for 159$ this morning because Bloomberg said people somehow are not interested in iPhones anymore.

“Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded.”

Haha well that is certainly a huge upgrade!

Yep and there’s a lot of people who upgraded to a 13 and love the upgrade. Lots of work subsidized phone customers are doing it. One of my friends was considering getting a brand new iPhone 12 this year and then he decided to go for a 13. I said go pro max of course, but he loves the jump to 13.

Everyone who wanted an iPhone 13 already got one at this point. As for me, I am holding out for the 14 with the X65 Qualcomm modem.

I’m the owner of iPhone 13 Pro Max with 512GB and it’s really zippy. The battery life is spectacular. The display is luscious. I’ll be off the market for a smartphone for years to come.
I think I’m the only person in the 13 Pro club that doesn’t think the battery is noticeably different to 12 Pro…

Makes you wonder if the rumour was actually fed to Bloomberg by investment funds looking to time the stock.

I ordered the iPhone 13 Pro 1TB Nov 11 along with a trade-in kit...I get the text that the phone has shipped and will be here Nov 29, I check the tracking from UPS and says the label was created 11/26, then that the phone was on the way 11/27, then it changes to " The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible."....I got the trade-in kit last Monday, still no iPhone.

WTF.

I think we reached the peak several years ago. At least that's when unit sales peaked.
