Nonsense. The 6/6s were simply too thin. Such thin, that both their stability and battery life sucked, period. Also, the regular 12 is about 15% thinner, smaller and lighter than the 11. Certainly not bulkier or 'uncomfortable' to hold. Only thing I agree though is that I do not want the 11/XR weight back. These were bricks indeed, many people have complained. But thanks to smaller OLEDs + the Mini as alternative, no more reasons to complain. Please stop. Every single iPhone from 6s onwards has gotten thicker, heavier, and bulkier. So much so that the iPhone 12 already feels like an uncomfortable brick to hold
Very nice, the jump of the Pro Max sounds almost too big to be true, +20% is crazy. The smaller models get +10%, or in other words, what they should have featured from the very beginning. It seems to correspond with the leaked information about slightly thicker chassis (e.g. going from 7.37 to 7.6mm for the Mini). So weight won't increase that much, maybe around +10grams, which is barely noticeable and certainly worth it.The iPhone 13 Pro Max will feature a 4352mAh battery, compared to the current iPhone 12 Pro Max's 3687mAh battery. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will share a battery of 3095mAh, compared to 2815mAh. The smallest model of the lineup, the iPhone 13 mini, will feature a 2406mAh battery, compared to the iPhone 12 mini's 2227mAh.
These policies do rankle me. There is no much arrogance there. But where else can I get a phone that lasts 6 years (and will likely be passed down to my children!)? My 2011 MBP lasted 9 years, and I got a cheap 2013 MBP that will probably never break.Apple refused to do my phone as they said it was bent. It’s not, I think they just did not want to do it for me.
I even compared it to my Mitutoyo steel rule and couldn’t see a bend.
The headphone jack was one of the reasons I kept it so long! I used it as an output in my car and I didn't fancy a flakey Belkin adapter! I now have CarPlay. The last headphone jack. The upgrade probably feels like iPhone 3G > iPhone 6.
What? The iPhone to iPhone 5s + first SE were smaller than the 12 mini! The iPhone 12 mini, which is the smallest iPhone Apple has made to date
… and new chips being increasingly power efficient.... newer versions of iOS being increasingly power hungry.
yup, that's what I'm hoping for, that power button on the 13!The thing is you could be doing that for several years with no Touch ID planned. Lol.
What I find really odd is if Apple wants to abandon Touch ID why didn’t they put in on the power button on the iPad Air? That could easily work just as well on the iPhone using your index finger.
Luckily upgrading annually is not mandatory. Appel can rrickle the features, and it is quite obvious that in some cases they intentionally do that - in ither cases they wait quite rightly to “do it right”….. but nobody forces the consumer to buy a new one every year. There’s no issue at all skipping a year or even two.The only green technology coming from Apple these days is in the form of cash in their bank accounts. If Apple cares so much about the environment, they would stop their yearly iPhone updates and move to updates every 2-3 years. Why couldn’t the 12s be 5G and have the bigger batteries? Why, because they need a feature to sell each year. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of dislikes from those who love getting a new Max each year thinking it’s so great and Apple is being so innovating, but in reality Apple is making calculated decisions on what new feature they release each so that they can milk the dead smartphone business until their car is ready. Change my mind.
You don't notice the much faster internet downloading and faster website rendering between iPhone 7 and SE? How about less app refreshes when switching between apps?
There are a couple of things:
1. SE has 1GB more memory than iPhone 7 and RAM uses power constantly, so more memory, the more battery it eats up. (I lost 2h battery life in my laptop when I added 32GB more memory to it for an example)
2. You bought SE that's pretty much identical as iPhone 7 but with smaller battery, by ~140mah. The newer phone has a 1,821mAh battery, while the iPhone 7 uses a 1,960mAh.
The efficiency gains every year isn't going to magically give you hours of battery life, we're only talking mere minutes at best. The only meaningful battery life improvement you're going to see is from upgrading to a much bigger battery such as iPhone 12 Max Pro.
Come on I want mini with the big battery and the 60hz display. Who cares about pro-motion, you can’t tell on this tiny 5.4 in display.... newer versions of iOS being increasingly power hungry.
now that apple have implemented WatchID, you'd imagine this won't be as big an issue for them. I'd love it if they did include it, but I'm guessing next year. Pity. You still can't do your banking etc with WatchID. It is very convenient though.still no solid news about Touch ID
Yes it was a certified 3rd party store not an actual Apple store but it certainly annoyed me. I never went to the store again so their loss. The 6S has been fantastic and gotten better and better over time and I’m really looking forward to the 13 Pro, it will support SA 5G and VoNR so will be future proofed for the next half decade. These policies do rankle me.
