So far I’ve managed to get mine working with a few different angles. I just kept trying to unlock my phone with the mask on, getting to where it forced me to put in my pin, and after a few weeks/months it started working.

Because I need to unlock my phone while I'm wearing a hat, sunnies and a mask, I'm hanging on to my SE.
Hanging out for an iPhone X style iPhone SE with Touch ID in the power button.
(And at work in a hairnet, goggles and a mask)
