Surely a notch is a notch, does it really make any difference how big it is? I think people who hate the notch hate it because it's there, not because of its size.
This.
Personally, the notch doesn’t bother me at all. The amount of content it cuts into is so minuscule that it really doesn’t matter. Plus, this year‘s iPhone 12 pro max is getting even bigger, 6.7 inches. If you just keep the video that you’re watching at the regular 16/9 aspect ratio, you don’t even notice that the notch is there, and because the screens even bigger this year, you still have more viewable area.
If the notch gets smaller, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s there.
And if the notch is removed, it doesn’t change usability one bit. You’ll notice it for five minutes, then forget that it ever existed.
Now can we forget the stupid rumor, and move on to other things. What about touch ID and the power button, 120 Hz, and triple cameras across the board. Those are the rumors that actually intrigue me, things that people actually will use and see some type of benefit over current phones. Smaller notch means nothing

Potentially silly question: will the delay of the 12 delay the 13 as well? I know no one actually knows the answer, but what do you all think?

I only got my 11 pro max in December, which means I wouldn't upgrade until my Christmas day birthday anyway, but I wonder, given what we know about the 12 if it's worth just waiting for the 13?

Notice I didn't mention the notch because....it doesn't bother me. Never has. I never got the hate around the notch, just like I never got the hate about bezels. Neither bother me, neither is anything I notice.

Rumor - 2030 iPhone Project name "holla!" - Will be a hologram.

I am still using my 256gb iPhone 8 Plus because I hate the notch and hasn’t grown on me. I’ll buy a professional camera before I upgrade my phone with a notch. Hopefully 2021 or 2022 will not have a notch.
Honest question, how much time do you spend staring at the top of your phone? because if you do that all day, then obviously you’ll notice it. But if you use your phone like... a phone, you literally forget it’s there after a couple hours of usage.
Also, 2021 it’s just making the notch slimmer, and it’ll still be there in 2022. So if you want it to go away anytime soon, you’re out of luck

My guess is probably not. The iPhone 13 will probably launch in September, just like every iPhone since 2012.
However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they allow early upgrades for people on the iPhone upgrade program. So if you buy an iPhone 12/12 Mini in October or 12 pro in November, they might only make you pay for 10 or 11 months instead of the full 12.

I think most people probably look at the screen of their phone quite often.

In fact, I’d say it’s quite rare for anyone to use their phone without at least glancing at the screen.

I dont get it. Why is everyone so obsessed with the notch? I couldn't care less if it is cut in half or stay as is.
For me size, screen, speed and above all battery life, are key items I care abut.
Why? Because it is 2020 and many other companies that don't have anything close to Apple in terms of money, engineering resources, designers, etc... were able to eliminate the notch on their phones. Apple is just plain lazy and don't care anymore.

I don’t often reply to posts like this but do we really need an article about a “maybe” a year away when this years current phone hasn’t even come out yet and we still don’t know what that one has???
