Come on Apple, what did you do in the past 5 years? Still with notch and no fingerprint sensor under screens? Awful OLED screens 60,90 or 120hz? Who cares?
OMG it’s happening folks. I was going to buy the 12 but now I wait one more year. Luckily the battery on my 4 is still strong at 20%.
Please help me decide if I should wait for iPhone 15 just in case.

Reducing height doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, since you can’t use those corners, then, for indicators (time, battery, etc) and still be legible. Unless they shift upward, which means that, because of the rounded corners, there will be less horizontal space (which may be how they go).
im only speculating but, the mini's notch would be narrower because it doesn't have the same tech components so it can be, but your point is well taken. right now though no one knows the actual width/height of the notch on the 12... so can we just wait until the 13th to find out? =)
I will not buy another iPhone until the notch is gone. I don’t care if they make a bezel, put it in the bezel, put it under the screen, or scrap it for a button with TouchID.
I don’t want my display being ruined by a large absurd notch. It’s so ridiculous that these other phone companies can put the cameras under the display. Even a hole-punch design would be welcomed. The best idea especially considering the mask issue is to just put TouchID in the top button just like the iPad Air 4 has on it!
I am fine with FaceID or TouchID or someID that solves the biggest problem with iPhone and what people aren’t seeing as a problem, the notch. It’s an atrocity of design. It’s asymmetrical, and it ruins the whole user experience. Here’s to any solution that removes that god-forsaken notch!!!

I don't think Apple is going to use fewer sensors in the Mini's notch because that would mean that its FaceID would be less secure.
I'd heard that they're planning on a full-width notch, and also a bigger full-width notch at the bottom with a Home button.
Actually, I think the proper description (based on the drawing) would be “thinner.”

In 2021 the iphone 13 will be called iphone 14 because of the unlucky number 13.
that's not how apple does things. they dont do things because it's popular (for the most part!) they research and dev longer than most of the other companies because they have the extra resources... just look at the early 2k macs. they dropped the floppy disk drive and lots of people said "bad idea apple! we need floppy disks!" 10 years or so later most PCs didnt have floppy drives. apple was ahead of the curve on that. notch, well maybe they are trying to "perfect" (meaning make it work 99% of the time) those under glass bio techs for face or touch id before releasing to the public. just saying =)
