Everything is slowly coming to its place. New iPhone season is around the corner.
Why do you predict this? The latest iPhone Mini 12 was a sales disaster. What if the iPhone 13 mini had huge sales? Will Apple reconsider that model for the 14?
I would suspect that Apple have already made their plans for the 14. It does seem like the 13 does look like a planned refresh of the 12 and we won’t see significant changes to the external designs but at least they have planned to have a mini model with the 12 and 13.What if the iPhone 13 mini had huge sales? Poor sales = any other smartphone vendor would love to have a “poorly selling” failure like the Mini.
I think it was still in the global top 10.
It’s all relative, but of course if makes for nice clickbait headlines. One has to scrape something together because the iPhone 12 line has otherwise been a spectacular success.
Imo Apple probably doesn’t want the mini to sell well. Apple made the 12 mini as a strategy for people to spend more money on the price increased regular iPhone 12 (compared to iPhone 11 the previous year) without realizing it. So the fact the 12 sells well (which means more margins for Apple) means the mini does its job, and Apple doesn’t need much of it. I bet Apple will continue selling the mini until the margin for the regular iPhone is acceptable at $699. Once that happens, we can see the mini dropped. What if the iPhone 13 mini had huge sales? It would be great if huge sales happened this year. Unfortunately, too many people are in love with luggage phones. Hint: @TheyayarealivinWhat if the iPhone 13 mini had huge sales? Will Apple reconsider that model for the 14?
Which of the suppliers has better quality control?
"Would you buy a 5.4" iPhone with a big battery that we can't physically fit into the chassis? We would have to make it super thick and break all Apple design rules."
This might have an easy explanation, and it may not even be relevant if the stories about poor sales are true…
But is it possible that Apple didn’t want the mini to sell well and maybe it’s cannibalizing sales of more expensive iPhones? I was paying Apple $55/month for my 11 Pro and now I’m paying almost $20 less for my 12 mini.
I have a hard time believing that they want to cut out the mini due to poor sales. What were they expecting? They have 5 other iPhones with bigger screens to compete with. What defines “poor” sales? I’d imagine they make a lot more off of a $799 iPhone 12 vs a $699 mini — they’re basically the same phone.
im convinced that the mini would have sold a lot better if it were released in a non pandemic year where people could have seen it in person.
