Can't it be both?Did they add battery or some other useful technology or did they do this just to drive additional case revenue?
I suspect there is engineering innovation occurring that is not easily perceivedThat last bit in your post is what people say when there's no real innovation 😉
Yeah once they are already as heavy as the 12 Pro’s are I don’t think an extra couple of ounces will break my hand. I’m more concerned about how the weight is balanced, because that seems to have more bearing on whether or not I’ll have muscle fatigue and nerve pain.as long the battery is good thats all it matters.
I don't disagree with you on the engineering front.I suspect there is engineering innovation occurring that is not easily perceived
Everyone knows it's the girth that matters. It is also longer than my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
That is why my iPhone is nudeNot gonna lie, I love how light my Samsung phone from work is compared to my iPhone 12 PM and you loose that „best pro design“ feel anyway as soon as you put it in a case
Nope. It’s been getting thicker for years. Is this the first time Apple have gone thicker?
Seems Irrelevant. And you know why that is? (Rhetorical) Because people add cases, which obviously is going to add to the natural thickness and weight to the phone as it is. So it completely cancels itself out and I don’t think people generally care too much about a few millimeters/mere ounces of a difference. Not that the weight is a problem, but I wonder how much heavier and denser they can get. I think the 12 Pro was already the heaviest smartphone I ever had for that size.

I guess I will have to get up at 3:00 am Friday to get my order in ASAPAs long the battery is good that is all it matters.
So when the 14 is even thicker then what?Yep, hard pass. My 12 is already thick and heavy enough. Keeping my 12 and waiting for the 14. Unlike the new iPad mini 6 (which I ordered immediately) the 13 is the very definition of an incremental update. Should have been called the 12s.
