First, I think in the era of mask-wearing (that is here to stay for years to come) touch id is an absolute must have feature for any smartphone, period.

I can understand that maybe they didn't have time to add it in the iPhone 12 by ithe time of launch in November, but why not make the iPhone 12's NOW with touch id in the power button? They can put it in new iPad Air, so just release new variants of iPhone 12's with touch id in the power button.

This way all the millions of people buying iPhones between now and iPhone 13's launch would get this frankly essential feature for covid times.

This will be nice when wearing a mask or the face-ID fails the 3 tries. (And you don't have an Apple Watch). Can't hurt to have both options so EVERYONE has something to complain about.

Actually it will be new and innovative if the rumor is true. iPhone 13 would include both Face ID and Touch ID so that's 2-factor biometric authentication which is something even more secure that Android phones don't do.

Also at least 5x optical zoom like other flagship phones,and Macro close up mode..

iPhone definitely lacks these cool,useful features and it’s a big shame,it really is.making it inferior in hardware and specs to flagship devices from others.

this needs to change,we pay premium ,we deserve a high end device! not just software and design,high end features too! at least with Pro range!

Dunno still think it’s highly possible certainly as the closer to end of the year more likely it will return I imagine. Nice to have on a desk I must admit that side I do miss

If this years rumours are true then great zoom is only thing really missing. Which from sounds won’t be here until 2022/2023

Great to have both if it's not too cost-prohibitive. Both FaceID and TouchID have distinct advantages and associated disadvantages; FaceID craps out with masks and TouchID doesn't like water. Having both is super versatile.

They fine tune and add the missing features of the previous model.

It seems like the year Apple puts back everything customers loved that they took away. Could have just left them in and saved themselves the hassle.

More ports and MagSafe returning to MacBooks, now Touch ID is returning as well.

A) Not all customers will be thrilled with having ports and features added back they neither want nor need.
B) These are all still rumours and rumours often do not pan out.

Hate to be the negative one here... but, I will believe it when I see it. Too many times has this rumor gone around. Will it happen? I am sure it will. Will it be in 2021/2022? Once Apple announces it, and only then, I will be happy.
