These days, when I look at my iPhone, the first 3 things that come to mind are "AT&T", "Scam Likely", and "Auto Warranty". Do something about that, Tim Apple!

:p

The iPhone 13 will be a definite upgrade from my 11 Pro…

…just, why 13? Why not skip 13 right to 14 or just drop the numbers altogether before we hit iPhone 20. 13 makes me nervous after 2020 (totally not superstitious ;) ).

Why poke the bear, Apple? Why???!?!? lol

Right, but the iPhone 13 Pro isn’t significantly better in terms of changes. I’m sure people will say the same thing with the 13 Pro once the 14 Pro is rumoured. It’s a phone, improvements happen every year. Those with the 12 Pro are unlikely to upgrade after one generation.
That make total sense, every year, people clamor for "the new device" and then endless amounts of people hate on it....and then repeat next year. I think there is only so much these devices. I think all of the ground breaking stuff happened in the first number of years of smartphones. Now, I think it will be perennial tweaks to features and functionality...until there is once again, some crazy new iteration.

120hz displays suck down battery life fast, so the “always on” display is questionable. Even if the refresh rate is dynamic, they still soak up a ton of juice to run.

I think touchID is a given.

“More graphite than graphite” seems strange. The current graphite is pretty dark.

Copper colored would be slick. Bronze, no thanks.

Fingerprint resistant coatings seems reasonable as well. The steel on the pros, and the back smooth glass on the regular 12’s get disgusting fast.

Superstition is dumb. Name it 13.
I second all of those choices

Moving to the rear, Weinbach says the new camera module will not be completely flat but that each lens will protrude less from the main body. Additionally, the immediate run-up to the camera module will be smaller, reducing the camera system's thickness entirely.
Make iPhone a tiny bit thicker and the protruding camera module will end up being flush. Then put in a slightly bigger battery to improve battery life. Problems solved.

I wonder when Apple will publish the actual thickness of the iPhone 12. They claim it is 7.4 mm thick. However, if you were to design something based on this measurement, your thickness would be off by almost 2mm because Apple conveniently ignores the camera bump...like it doesn't even exist. The actual thickness of the iPhone 12 is closer to 10mm. Luckily they're not designing spacecraft! Boom! lol

Just my $0.02, but I think Under Glass TouchID will be the ONE & ONLY reason most buy, OR consider buying, the upcoming 12s/13 !

Apple clearly likes to try to load-up iPhones with Bells & Whistles as selling points, but it would NOT be smart of them to ignore the fact that the pivot from TouchID to FaceID pissed-off many.

The upcoming 12s/13 iPhones offer a convenience factor that, I believe, many will take notice of once they get wind of it.

Apple would be smart to aggressively promote it.

And, I stand by my earlier statements of a day OR two ago, that Tim Cook's AAPL sucks at Product Planning & Definition !

I miss the Steve Jobs AAPL !

I personally believe the Weak Link @ Apple is its Top Mgmt (Cook, Schiller, etc).

Would love to see MR put a poll together that gets Users to help list the top "Engineering Accomplishments" that have occurred in the Apple ecosystem under Cook's reign as CEO.

And here I mean both first-party & third-party.

I'll start, & even project out into the future alittle, I believe Under Glass TouchID will be perceived as the single-greatest Engineering Accomplishment under Cook !

From a User's perspective, most don't care if Apple internally developed it, OR if they just incorporated it into their products.

As such, Apple will get credit for it from most Users.

And that's ok.

It will be perceived as the single-most-important "Benefit" added into an iPhone in years !

In other words, it will very-likely be "The Catalyst" for iPhone Unit Sales later this year.

I’m hoping for more significant camera improvements. My 12 Pro Max takes good photos, but they still look bad at any zoom level. I think we need more than 12 megapixels.

The zoom functionality needs to be improved greatly via more optical zoom hardware or better AI.
Ultra wide is said to be getting a big upgrade this year. We won’t see massive zoom until 2022-2023 from the sounds thats when we will see a periscope lens. Zoom is lacking and sadly got to wait a while for this one.

It will likely be the called the 12s and the 2022 model to be the iphone 14

I once remember hating my iPhone 4 once the 5 came out 😝...how dare Apple innovate every year
