too much time on my hands with weekend lockdown. Peanut M&Ms. that zoom is impressive.

Upgraded from an 11 pro max to a 13 pro max. I can say that the excitement of a new phone has faded more in recent years but this upgrade has been well worth it. The phone just feels so much faster in every aspect and the screen is great. I’m not huge on the promotion because I can’t really tell a huge difference with just daily use but when I really look for it I see it. Either way it’s a welcomed upgrade and the phone just feels smoother and faster which has made this upgrade feel worth the money.
The graphite is beautiful and the cameras are really spectacular.
Hope everyone enjoys their new phones!

Unfortunately I had to leave to work minutes after I got the quickest possible setup just to get it open so some of these quick impressions just might be wrong, I’ll update the post if that’s the case.

- Color is lighter in person than I expected but only saw it indoors on an overcast day around noon. Not disappointed with it and I do enjoy the change but as a fan of darker phones I think Pacific Blue is better. (Sierra is still vastly better than Graphite though)
- Weight difference is tiny, but still noticeable even when I expected it not to be, so I should be unbiased.
- Screen looks pink and warmer compared to my god awful green tinted panel on 12 Pro Max, need to compare it to old SE LCD screen and (what I perceive to be) perfect S6 Watch later.
- I wasn’t as amazed with 120hz as many of you seem to be, but the difference is still massive and very welcome.
Situation report after about a day of usage.

- Falling in love with Sierra Blue, seeing it in different lights is great and it never looks like the flat baby blue it looked in that Guided Tour video.
- Used to the weight but when I pick up my old 12 Pro Max it feels lighter and thinner.
- After good comparisons the screen is really good, and True Tone isn’t the aggressive mess it was on 12 series.
- Notch I don’t even notice, sometimes I remember that it is smaller on new phone and then I pay attention to it and I like it more than old wide notch.
- 60hz on 12 Pro Max looks very jumpy/stuttery now.
- Macro Mode switching is driving me crazy, phone goes to macro way before wide camera runs out of focus distance, old portrait mode trick to force it to stay on 1x is the only solution at the moment and it isn’t a very good one.
- Edge detection on portrait mode is god awful sometimes when shooting plants and similar complicated shapes.

Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I'm still undecided which colour to get for my 13 Pro Max. I've had the Midnight Green 11 Pro Max and the Silver 12 Pro Max. At the California Streaming event, I thought Sierra Blue looked nice as it reminded me of the blue I had on my old VW Golf. However, now after seeing photos of the Sierra Blue online and even a friend's one on FaceTime, I'm not that excited to want to have a Sierra Blue 13 Pro Max anymore. I want something different, so not Silver again, nor do I want Gold because my parents each have a 12 Pro Max in Gold. I'm leaning towards Graphite, so by any chance, does anyone here have any photos of both the Graphite and the Sierra Blue 13 Pro Max side by side (possibly under different lighting conditions)? Thanks!

So impressed with the cameras. One outdoor shot I took while Onewheel-ing to the bakery this morning...and a couple of macro shots of some Metal Earth models (Razor Crest and Capt America). Somewhat renewing how I look about the world as I wander. What shot can I get next? Gonna head to the new Apple Store at the Tower Theatre in Downtown LA later today. Cheers!

Hey does your phone have like imperfections, (spots) in the back glass, I just made a thread about this on mine and thought I could see the same on your phone
What do you mean by “imperfections”? I just looked at the back and I don’t see anything that looks abnormal to me

The graphite is the exact same colour, I’m looking now, in photos it shows a slight change as a slight movement changes the hue and cameras pick it up. put them on top of each other and you will see exactly the same
Oh let it go… 🙄 we get it, you think it’s the same shade.. looks darker to me 😂

Picked up a 13 pro max yesterday, mainly as my wife's XR was showing it's age battery wise, and her nomad brown folio was on the way out after 2.5 years lol, (she won't use anything else) I was quite happy with my 6 month old 12 pro max she now has, big upgrade for her.
Love the graphite definitely a shade darker than my 12 max. imo.

1. SS seems to have more grip.
2. Don't notice the weight gain.
3. Screen colour is way better.
4. I notice the 120hz seems smoother and faster.
5. Camera macro is excellent that's all I've used so far.
6. Battery wow, didn't even charge it yesterday.

After 6 months with my 12 pro max would never have anything else.

For those having issues with “unlock with Apple Watch”, there is now a confirmed workaround from another MR member in the other thread I created.

1. Wait until next update which will solve the issue. And use code / no mask in meanwhile.

2. Workaround:
- Make a NEW Back-up for the iPhone13 (Pro).
- Erase phone and set up as new phone.
- Restore from backup iPhone13 NOT from original backup (iPhone11/12 etc).
- Go to 'settings' > 'Face ID & Passcode' V 'Unlock with Apple Watch' ... now the toggle switch and connection should work!
