After 5 swaps, eventually i got a decent screen. Beautiful white and uniform. Some picture of my new (five) vs old (4th swap).

There something that bugs me: a very tiny chip on the metal frame.
What would you do?

I think i'd keep this one.
Wow that’s like a chunk missing from the frame. When I looked at your sixth picture, I thought you were referring to the mark in the stainless toward the top until I realized the circle. It’s unfortunately the reality of this 13 series so you have to pick your poison. If it were on the side of the stainless the decision would probably be easier since it would likely be covered with a case. This is looking right at you. Me personally would return it but I don’t tolerate the physical damage well. You have to weigh what would bother you more since it sounds like your screen is on par with your liking. When (if) it comes to resale, people will notice chips and scratches more often then screen imperfections which are more visible with certain color images at the lowest possible settings. Not everyone has an eye for it.

yes, you're right, you really have to pick your poison this year. The chip is tiny so it's hard to notice, it does not worry me for te resale.

I'm very picky on the display, so in the time i think the display will bother me more than the chip in the frame. A phisical damage is hard to tolerate, but i'm pretty tired to play this game.

I think the damage is just estethic, it wouldn't affect the usage, i hope.

Everyone has their own preferences on what they are willing to tolerate. I’m glad you at least found an acceptable display as QC is simply a mess. Enjoy and hopefully we are not back here next year renaming this thread 14 Pro!

Here are my current two screens (13 PM)… they don’t look to bad… what do you think this time?
The pictures were taken at 0%, 5%, 25% and, just for the fun of it, 100%. Night shift off but True Tone on (because that’s how I use it in everyday situations).
That looks really good to me

Are you going to return of those phones?

If your screen looks that’s good I’d say don’t worry abt the chip because your going be looking at your screen not the metal frame, if these all the 13PM were all good uniform units the I would say exchange but the way things are with these phones I wouldn’t take that chance

If I had that device and was still a decent screen, I definitely will return it on the spot. I cannot accept any apple device that comes scratched/chip damaged right out of the box. I just get irritated if I see them. Even though I use a case. I know it’s there so it would bug the crap out of me.

Anyways, if it doesn’t bug you then I wouldn’t worry much about it.

While that’s true, but my eyes would quickly goes towards the chip so for me, it’s a return 100% on the spot.

100% with you there...instant return in my book.

No, I think I’ll hang on to these for a while.. they are quite uniform in daily use (those pictures were taken in a dark room, with almost no screen brightness, so not a “real world scenario” most of the day).
I think there’s a slight greenish hue to one of them and a slight red hue to the one.
But, at most times I don’t notice either. I just wonder what is most “correct”…
Anyway, as one is sierra blue and one is graphite, I’ll keep both until I can make up my mind which color I prefer in the long run.

Why do you need 2 phone lol

I don’t need two… but I couldn’t decide on sierra blue or graphite… so I bought both, and plan on selling one of them as soon as I make up my mind… every Apple item I own is either space gray, graphite or black, so that’s why the graphite phone appeals to me.
Still, the sierra blue looks sooo good too…
But, that’s another discussion…
As for the screens, the choice is between slight yellow/green or slight red.. but as I said, it’s hardly noticeable in regular use…

you guys are 100% right.
I really struggle with the screen and now i'm almost done :D
It's bright and uniform.

On the other hand the chip is small and by the way, i have 2 months for the return so, if the chip will catch my eye too much (don't hope so) i will return and replace again.

Sounds like you have a plan! The good thing for you is you can take advantage of the Holiday return period to see if it truly bothers you or not over a longer span of time than just the standard two weeks. Enjoy!!

Probably by that time you’ll just forget it and hopefully wait for the 14

All 7 phones I've had have this issue. It's a matter of what is tolerable for you
Well even the smallest uniformity issue is not tolerable to me haha!

No but what I mean is that it’s not up to me what I find tolerable, what is the tolerance policy with this kind of things. How bad does it has to be to get a phone/screen replacement?

I’ll try and make a photo of my screen. It’s not THAT annoying but since most of the OS is grey, and I’m like a night owl, it’s visual d for me most of the time.
