The current iPhone 12 series looks pretty nice already. A smaller notch on the screen will make it look nicer. I'm not sure what the issue is?And Apple's 'Designers' continue navel gazing and get paid a fortune - thinking different colours and a smaller notch is innovative....wow!.
See Apple design team totally owned by this (working) expanding/sliding phone from Oppo. I'm sure Steve Jobs would be irate at the current design team at Apple for essentialy designing nothing new in the last 3 years. Come to think of it... is anyone actually designing stuff at Apple or are they just using old parts year on year and revising out of date concepts - they really don't have anything original to show any more? Yes they might update the innards - but hey - so does everyone else - that's nothing new.

Premium build quality with stainless steel sides. What do you expect? People always cry about battery life and Apple is giving you a larger one, of course that's going to add more weight. Get the regular 12s/13 if you want a lighter phone. Or get something with a more cheap plastic build like a Samsung.even more heavy? I feel like the iPhone Pro is already one of the most heavy phones out there
That Samsung has one of the most ridiculous looking backs Ive ever seen and its even worse in person. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or puke when I held one. No thanksNote 20 Ultra was months older than iPhone 12 Pro Max tho,I don’t like Note’s bulky cameras either but in terms of front ,Note looks much more modern and more professional.
iPhone’s notch definitely makes it look like an older device.
Other than that I think 12 Pro Max looks awesome (specially back and sides).
but then there is the new S21 Ultra which looks very similar to 12 Pro Max from front without that ugly notch and from rear ,while I really like 12 Pro Max,I think S21 Ultra matt black looks amazing ,so modern and futuristic and unique.

After years with my launch iPhone X, I’m pretty sick of the notch. I actually use to like it, or not be bothered by it.
But lots of better looking phones now.
Ummm, massive bezels and an outdated home button on a device released in 2020 is much worse of a design than a notch...I vowed to never purchase any iPhone model with a notch, I simply will not reward bad design. I am using the iPhone SE 2020
I vowed to never purchase any iPhone model with a notch, I simply will not reward bad design. I am using the iPhone SE 2020 until...well I don’t know how long. Until Apple hires a decent designer, I guess. The notch is not good design, it is cheap, lazy, and there simply is no aesthetic excuse for it to be there. Apple got lazy and customers didn’t care. It’s a shame. Really bad design - Steve would have never.
I did caveat that with "significantly" and "helpful", so yes, i understand that system info is displayed in the wings. However, that info was compromised to fit in the small wings, so the battery percentage was taken away (among other details). As a result, i have to add a huge widget to continuously display battery percentage on my display. Thus, the wings have cost me 16% of usable app icon space, which is a huge loss compared to the relatively small concession required to just eliminate the wings.Actually, they do give more usable screen real estate, that is where ancillary info goes...signal strength, battery level, etc. That gets that info out of the way, otherwise there would be a black bar at the top and the screen size would be even smaller...without making the overall device bigger.
Yeah, that is true. So, if the make the notch narrower there could be battery percentage. I don't think that the notch will fully go away anytime soon. They could make an option in settings where you turn off the "wings" and just have a solid black bar across the top and now have a information strip across the top....it will make the screen area smaller. I don't know, I do not use any widgets....just find them annoying and too Android looking. I keep everything neatly organized in folders for the 2nd page back, the 1st page has individual icons that get used constantly....just my .02I did caveat that with "significantly" and "helpful", so yes, i understand that system info is displayed in the wings. To me, it is looking more like a "F" as in Failure. Without Touch ID, Apples design of the next iPhone fails all logicIt's looking more like an 'S' upgrade to me. So far.
More people are saying Touch ID is coming than those who don’t...will see how it pans outTo me, it is looking more like a "F" as in Failure. Without Touch ID, Apples design of the next iPhone fails all logic
