And still has a better operating system and user experience than the completion. 😊😎

Android has been behind since the first iPhone was released and they’re still nowhere near to being as good as iOS.

No point rushing something when it’s not ready, apple releases features when they’re ready to be released properly. 😁
OR, these techs been ready, apple just putting them on the shelves and only when they need to stack the list to encourage people to buy the next iphone, then they implemented.

astrophotography is interesting one as surely wouldn't it need a pericope type lens to provide good results for this? which I thought was coming in 2022.

120hz display - 18 months behind the competition.

Always on display - 5 years behind the competition

Portrait mode videos - 2 years behind the competition

Under display finger print sensor - 3 years behind the competition
Apple is like the lionking, it will let cheetath/leopard (Android) kill prey, eat some before lion going to take the most of part of cake/prey
Being behind the competition means you put less effort and makes viable features later on

They r not changing Magsafe, they will use stronger magnets i guess
They wouldn't change anything about design, otherwise consumers have to buy Magsafe accessories again?
Not really typical from Apple
Magsafe charging is working pretty well for me right now.

These are features I wish apple would have added a couple years ago. Honestly they seem too good to be true. I bet one or 2 of these get added, but not all. They need to hold features back for future iPhones.
For those complaining about burn in, you can tell you haven't used an Android phone for any extended time. Even the cheap ones don't experience burn in the way you are worried about it. It's been on Android for years. If it was an issue it would already be gone.

You were spot-on, and this is why it was so hard for me to purchase the 12-Max this year. The battery life sucks between charges, and I still occasionally experience screen-freeze with certain Apple apps under 14.4. The only reason I stayed with Apple this year was due to the Apple Watch 6 with health features.

I love iOS but would actually say it's still behind Android at a functional/productivity level - having used both extensively. Apple simply beats Android just by generally having better versions of apps.

Same for me and i use very cheap non official Magsafe products and magnets are really strong
But if they improve magnet's strength, it would be even better (in car, its better to use Magsafe case instead of naked iPhone)

I don't really care about the astrophotography but I really want the periscope lens for zoom shots. The rest are decent upgrades though so looks like I'll be getting the 13 pro max or whatever it's called.

Nah, android phones are notorious for shocking battery life when it comes to real world use, adding 120hz and AOD back then would of been a big mistake by apple, now is the time to add them features, chipset is way more efficient now, and the LTPO display will also help with battery life.

Under screen fingerprint sensor is still garbage, prefer it in the power button, or apple make a bigger sensor that works better and you don’t have to look at the screen when placing your finger to unlock.

Apple doesn’t rush anything no matter what the completion is doing, if you can call them completion that is.

Unless it works flawlessly, it won’t see the light of day with apple.

Likewise, pericope lens is what I'm looking forward to. hoping this does come for next years model. The area which the camera is lacking.

The AOD on android phones is not static it moves to prevent screen burn in.

Tim Apple: "What do people really want?"
Researcher: "A way to shorten battery life even further..."

And before you start, I know... OLED... low power... Yada yada. It is just a joke.

I am more concerned about the idea of carrying a strong magnet in my pocket all of the time.
I am not sure I am looking forward to that (and nor are the magnetic strips on my credit cards).
Wow I forgot magnetic strips were a thing. In Australia we don’t even use those anymore. For the last 6 years or so.

Apparently adaptative 120 hz doesnt eat much battery due to software optimization and newer LTO OLED display
Based on S21 Ultra, battery life remains almost equivalent between an adaptative 120 hz vs standard 60 hz

Those features are not essential in my opinion. So if Apple wants to implement it, waiting for them to perfect it is better.

Except for finger print sensor. I hope they make it on the lock button, like on the iPad Air 4, for better physical contact when unlocking the phone quickly without looking at the screen.
Issue I have with the sensor on the lock/power button is that cases will need to expose the button.

Now that I've upgraded to the 12 pro max I've been happy with my new phone. However on paper the upgrades seemed minimal which is why I hesitated to upgrade. If these changes are correct I won't hesitate to upgrade this year.

The notion that the iPhone is indeed a phone becomes less and less with each release. In the good old days you would differentiate between a keypad type mobile phone and the nextgen phone was the word 'smart' aka smartphone. A phone that could take decent pictures, surf the web and play music. Now the telephone ability seams to take a backseat role. Always on display is useful, but give me a break, 'astrophotography' as a unique selling point? The industry needs a new name for these devices, one that supports all of the capabilities and not sell it as a mobile phone.

Hmm. No mention of USB-C was expected but still really disappointing. I'm on an iPhone 8 and fear the next phone I buy (if not iPhone 13) won't have a port at all! Are Apple really going to skip USB-C entirely in their phones? I thought USB-C on iPad Pro's was a good sign!

They use a trick, its technically a usb-c if you use Magsafe charger (wired usb-c)
I think they will push Magsafe instead of usb-c even though as i said, its usb-c on the end
Personally , i do not use lightning port anymore (using Magsafe charger)
