And still has a better operating system and user experience than the completion. 😊😎

Android has been behind since the first iPhone was released and they’re still nowhere near to being as good as iOS.

No point rushing something when it’s not ready, apple releases features when they’re ready to be released properly. 😁
What if I disagree with you and say that Android is way better?
There's no point arguing with you, because the fact is that Android is better, has more features and more freedom than iOS.
Samsung has had always on display forever and it has worked very well. If I had to choose whether I'd get iPhone SE (which is outdated by it's design) or Samsung at the same price point I'd get Samsung.

Apple has often always stayed behind and copied features from Android. iPhones even have way worse batteries than most Android phones.

It’s all about preferences, buddy.

And Apple makes incremental upgrades to keep the cash flowing. There’s really no other reason as to why they are behind on certain parts. But go on and keep defending a company.

got to say don't think magsafe has been an issue in terms of sticking to the phone. rather they improve the speeds more than sticking better

With OLED displays, Apple is able to only light up the pixels needed
Not on the iPhone 12 until they fix the raised blacks display issue they have still done nothing about!

Your “facts” are so boring.😴

I hope the astrophotography features are just a marketing wrapper around better low-light capabilities in general, because I don't really care much about taking photos of night skies and aliens and stuff. Anyway, thank you, Apple.

You are a boring person.
Yes, very boring.
But... what’s your damn problem with a lot people still preferring iPhones even with all your facts?
And... why are you, Android lovers, always trying to convince others to choose your preferences? Let people chose whatever they want. That’s why you are really soooo boring.

Sounds like a recipe for OLED burn-in...

Before I got my iPhone 12 I had a couple of Samsung Galaxy S phones with always on OLED displays, with their implementation the image is moved about and the screen reduces its brightness and I never had a problem with burn in, so it shouldn't be a worry.

what is the advantage of always on display on a phone?

The advantage is that you can see if you've got missed emails, messages, calls without having to constantly pick your phone up and check every few minutes. It's one of the features I constantly miss having had it on Android. Hope it does come to iPhone.

120hz display - 18 months behind the competition.

Always on display - 5 years behind the competition
Apple probably has been waiting for LTPO capability for OLED like what is used on the Apple Watch. Could be that LTPO, for larger OLED panels, was not available or matured enough to be used by Apple. Samsung only started using LTPO OLED last year on the Note Ultra. Apple was not going to put Always-On Display and 120 Hz refresh rate without LTPO. The other thing to consider, maybe Samsung could not produce the quality in such large quantity to meet Apple’s requirement last year and that could be why it was not used in the Apple 12.

Can we just get the hourly forecast on the lock screen? For heaven's sake, its 2021 and I have to unlock my phone just to check the temperature. I hope they acquired Dark Sky for a good reason.

Portrait mode videos - 2 years behind the competition

Under display finger print sensor - 3 years behind the competition
Irrelevant because "the competition" doesn't have to manufacture 220,000,000 iPhones each year. For some of these features just sourcing the manufacturing pieces is a work of art.

Everyone talking about Apple being behind. I’ll take technology from Apple, that is similar to the tech others have been using, to stay with iOS and the many benefits I find being in the Apple ecosystem. Whether or not Apple is first to market, when they bring it to market the execution/technology is as good as it gets. Plus, an often overlooked problem unique to Apple is economy of scale and manufacturing difficulties Apple has implementing hardware on such a significantly higher production capacity than any other single Android phone.

No iMessage, FaceTime, AirDrop, FaceID, Apple Watch, etc, with Android. Android offers impressive hardware, and has come a long way in software, but it still feels half baked in many ways to me because it has to work and so many different hardware platforms.

Always On Display - finally I can try an iPhone after like 10 years since I switched from the 3GS to Samsung Galaxy.

Apple is still inviting people to compulsively check their phones every few minutes instead of just displaying useful information which you can see even if your phone is like 2 meters away from you.

Also - the fingerprint sensor. Customers are so lucky that the pandemic forced Apple to add a fingerprint sensor back into their phones ! Yet another reason I couldn't try an iPhone in the last few years.

All in all - the iPhone 13 looks to finally mark the time when I can switch between Android and Apple without any severe limitations. I have my eyes on the iPhone 13 Mini.
