I hope not true. I was leaning towards a iPhone 13 mini this go around, but 128GB is not enough for me. I'd be fine with 256GB.
Ahh, that would be a good usecase.I have 22,343 photos and videos on my phone, it could be cleaned up a bit, but I keep full versions on my phone, in the very rare case that iCloud shuts down or something happens, I have a full backup of all my pictures. Most of the images are from before heiv(would love to convert them all, but all the apps to do that lose a lot of the metadata).
It says they’re MacRumors renders, so that’s probably not what they’re actually supposed to be.Ugh. Those pink and bronze colors are HIDEOUS. If that’s what they are going with, then I don’t know what Apple was thinking as the greens and blues they have done the last few years have been wonderful.
I’m disappointed but not that conspiratorial about it. Apple wouldn't make a crappy phone just to justify not having to make a crappy phone. There’s only so much space inside it, and if they used more for memory people would be complaining about the battery. I’d love a 3-lens camera system too. I just really like the small size, but storage volume is one spec on which I can’t compromise that much. Ah well. They keep sabotaging the mini. The 12 mini was overpriced, and now the 13 mini is intentionally hobbled (if true).
Then they wonder why its sales are low, but proclaim nobody wants smaller phones.
My iTunes library is half a TB. Moving music in and out of phone is not fun, and I can’t really predict what I want to listen to in the next moment.I'm just wondering what the use cases are for people who want 512GB and 1TB iPhones. Are ya'll storing copies of every movie you like or something?
Most US users maybe, but that’s still a stretch. Outside of US, unlimited data plan is still the minority. It is not fun to have hundreds of GB being wasted at downloading random image, downloading podcasts, watching movies etc. Also I just can’t trust cloud storage to secure my personal files. Syncing is ok. Completely off the local storage? No.Agreed. I’ve got a 128GB 12 Pro Max and I’ve only used 90GB with sideloaded emulators full of large roms. Most people are streaming music, etc these days. And with offloading unused apps/music storage isn’t as needed as it once was.
no doubt, with nand price being 10 dollars per 128gb, apple charging 100 bucks for the upgrade is a pure profit move, but we all know that 😂The Pro really needs to start at 512 storage option.
Yes they are experts at upselling and it usually works for them.No 256 GB to non-pro would be a shame honestly....
Apple trying to upsell even more ppl towards pro models...
All Apple devices should start at 256GB at this point, but especially for “Pro” versions of devices. This would make the low-end devices equal across the board. All the Macs start at 256, so Pro phones and Pro iPads should start there as well. This would make the extra cost of those devices truly meaningful. It’s past time minimum storage on devices should barely be a consideration for supposedly “Pro” branded devices.
I checked my storage and my minimum storage has become 256GB as 128GB means I can’t even restore from my backup.I hope not true. I was leaning towards a iPhone 13 mini this go around, but 128GB is not enough for me. I'd be fine with 256GB.
actually jobs was notorious for keeping charity a very private matter. which is a good thing. Can APPLE donate a portion of the sales from the PINK iPhone For Cancer?
I have Cancer.
STEVE JOBS would LOVE this.
The renders are hideous - I'm sure whatever Apple actually releases will be much nicer.I wonder if the renders are based on something MR saw or heard or if they are just guesses.
I seriously doubt this rumor. I cannot think of a single time Apple has eliminated a higher tier storage option from one year to the next, unless it was to replace it with an even larger storage option. No 256GB option? Are you kidding me?
Ahhh the “ I speak for everyone “ commentNo it doesn’t tbh most people don’t need 512. Wouldn’t be opposed to 256
I think they do need to look at the iCloud storage options as well. I am on a family plan with four people, and the 2TB option will need to be evaluated in the next few years.Agreed. Better news would be Apple increasing the default size for unpaid iCloud storage, and then bumping up the paid tiers as well.
Long term storage on the device itself is begging for a catastrophic loss. Keeping media in the cloud is a great option, Apple just needs to sweeten the pot a little.
