I had the percentage active on my 7 and thought I would hate not having it on my 12 Mini. Truth is I miss it way less, if it all, than anticipated.

VPN and wifi calling, on the other hand, quite a lot and I would absolutely like being able to use different colours.

I doubt there will ever be a Samsung Dex-like feature. Apple wants you to buy an iPad instead. It's not about what the device can do, it's about getting more money from customers.

Apple Pencil can be a maybe, as now they bring Promotion to the iPhone Pros. Maybe on future iPhones or when Apple finally do a foldable Ultra Max iPhone... :D
I sure hope they bring Apple Pencil support to the iPhone Pros in the future. That would be a killer feature. I love using the S-Pen on my Galaxy S21 Ultra, but I'm an iPhone guy, but I need both phones for app development. Hopefully next year the notch goes away and we'll get a host of other upgrades.

Ok ok, smaller notch, no battery percentage... But can Face ID work with masks and glasses now? That’s the only thing I care about honestly.

miss opportunity , they really need to "embrace" the smaller notch with software too, at least dnd or alarm icon...good for marketing too on selling the 13 models
Big deal use the widget it too can be on the front screen or if you don’t want a widget taking up space —- swipe from the top.

most that complain about the battery percentage only REALLY care when the battery is low or the icon goes Yellow or Red.

minor issue.

I'd like to be able to tell, at arm's length, without having to yank the phone off the charger, if it has fully charged or not. Eyeballing the icon from that distance it could be anywhere from upper-80's to 100%.

VPN status used to be there, I used to use a VPN in the 5s/6/6s era and it would say "VPN" in tiny letters. Did they remove that with the rabbit-ear displays?

Perhaps a teardown will reveal what they are doing with the extra space underneath the screen. If nothing, then this is a completely superficial "upgrade" to the face ID system. It's about as cool as "upcycled" antenna bands (seriously, can they pat themselves on the back for anything else?).

and this is what we’re worried about? Lol
Right?!

some people just like to nitpick I guess. I’d rather fix all devices iMessgae and sms syncing to/From WatchOS … delete one place delete in an another.

FYI if you have an Apple Watch, and dating a few people (not a player but seeing which is a better fit for you and seeing if you fit for them) don’t ever fall asleep with it on or let yourself get inebriated … as they’ll have full access to all your messages - INCLUDING iCloud 2FA pop up codes!!

This means access to:
Pictures,
iMessage / sms,
Files,
Videos in iCloud
Emails - meaning they can re-register passwords for all kinds of things.

this can be worse than waking up to being robbed, digitally.

😂 How lazy can one get. You swipe down to see the control center and there is the battery percentage. Takes like one second.

I don’t even care about seeing battery percentage until it goes into power save mode. Then I just swipe down and look in control center when ever I want. One second is all it takes …
They should still offer it for us lazy people.

This can all be fixed in software later, iOS 15.2 even, doesn't have to be iOS 16.. Don't understand the big deal here, I've preferred the look without percentage. And I used to jailbreak my iPod Touch to get percentage on it, but that battery life was garbage.

You can already do that, except it's iOS on a bigger screen.
Except what I want is a samsung-dex like experience where I can take advantage of the large monitor and have side-by-side windows like a desktop as well as the screen resolution/aspect ratio taking advantage of the monitor capabilities.

iOS on a big screen really brings me zero benefits in the current form.

am I the only one that was mad about this with my X and after a year I never seemed to care. I think having a % gives you more checking battery anxiety and now I just don't worry and use the phone without thinking about it. It used to always be a big habit of mine and now I don't care.

I turned that crap off years ago; all it did was drive me batty, wondering why my phone suddenly dropped 5%.

So the notch is smaller by 28% in width but 10% increase in height ?! ok, at least give us more icons there, since you made that from the start an "visible and informative area"

I'd be so happy if they just shoved the notch into a top bezel and called it a day so that we can get the full width of information and icons back in that area.

No need to have the battery bar and percentage bar..but a DND/alarm icon should be on iOS15, or at least iOS15.1

They don’t want it to show because people will then see the % drop and complain. If u don’t see what % it’s at every time u look at your phone then u won’t have to complain why the battery is draining quickly.

This was a very underwhelming launch of iOS 15, iPhone 13, iPad OS 15, and Watch 7.

Nobody wants a better camera, longer battery life, brighter display, more storage, tougher screen glass, or a faster processor. We want the arbitrary features mentioned by the rumor mongers or Apple is underwhelming us. /s.
