Bumping up storage in preparation for port-less iPhones. Maybe 14 range?
edit: Sorry, just read point about potentially 1 model being port-less.

Doubtful. We may see 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB like the iPad Pros.I wonder if they will bump the base storage of the Pro lineup from 128GB to 256GB given the 1TB rumored bump. Or they would alternatively raise the mid tier Pro from 256 to 512GB perhaps?
Either way, with the camera array already available on the iPad Pros, it wouldn't be surprising if they streamline everything and include the LIDAR onto the upcoming update really lol.
LiDAR is the single most useless future the iPhone has for an average user. Im yet to find any real benefit except from slightly better focused photos. Really, please explain how I can use LiDAR daily or even weekly for something that is actually useful? If there's a 13 mini with LiDAR, I'd be very tempted to upgrade.
Not me. I think I am done paying a $1000 a year to get the latest and greatest model. And it will cost $10,000.
I know I complain, but I am still getting the iPhone 13 Pro. Probably not the 1TB, but it's a nice upgrade from my Xs
Better focusing seems pretty useful.LiDAR is the single most useless future the iPhone has for an average user. Im yet to find any real benefit except from slightly better focused photos. Really, please explain how I can use LiDAR daily or even weekly for something that is actually useful?
I thought all apps that use AR automatically utilize LiDAR? AR is just more accurate on those devices with LiDAR in it? Could be wrong of course. For AR like measuring someone height or things, e.g measuring length of desk, if the app supports it, in theory.
Better focusing seems pretty useful.
Useful, sure.
But I can't say I've ever had "focusing" problems with an iPhone.
And my last iPhone was a 6S Plus... a dinosaur.
I have a 12 Pro Max today and the pictures are great! But I don't know how much of that is due to LIDAR.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

thatd be nice, but I doubt it. 128GB remains very serviceable and Apples generally not hugely generous on the base model storage. If they stick to three storage tiers I’d expect 128, 256/512, 1TB.Would this mean pro lineup will start at 256GB? If so, I am stoked!
There is a native app called "Measures" and it works perfectly without LiDAR.For AR like measuring someone height or things, e.g measuring length of desk, if the app supports it, in theory.
I could always use the extra storage. I am one of the few people that still have a large lossless music collection which keep a good portion of on my phone. Add in the photos/4k videos and it adds up pretty quick.1 TB of storage? Two things come to mind. I don’t think consumers realize how much storage that really is and I couldn’t even fill that much memory if I tried. You’d have to have a major backlog of photos and apps to even need that much storage.
And the biggest consideration, will be the price point for a 1 TB iPhone, which we all know, Apple has a high markup on the higher storage iPhone models.
The iPhone 6, 6S, 7 and 8 all had the same rounded edge design. Some for the iPhone 6, 6s, 7.

I find Touch ID frustrating in the winter. The cold causing my hands to dry out and couple that with needing to wash my hands frequently, my finger tips become like sand paper. Even with hand lotion Touch ID has a hard time reading my finger prints. Many times I am left needing to enter my iOS passcode or an app password. I even rescan my fingers, for Touch ID, which temporarily helps.I’m hoping for the fingerprint sensor. That’s the one thing that would make me buy it. FaceID just isn’t as nice/fast.
I'd agree if not for the fact even without lidar their competitors are better at low light.Focusing in low light is huge. Also...when Apple announces their AR glasses and applications, the technology will find its way into iPhones with a LiDAR sensor

If you have taken a low light shot indoors you have used the LiDAR.yawn! liDar, haven't used it once outside of a demo. Apple has lots it
