I once had a Plus but that was with 6S Plus.

That was 5.5 inches. This is 6.7...idk how I'd be able to carry a Pro Max around. But the battery life is much bigger than reg. Pro :(
People act as if they are carrying around an iPad. It is literally a fingers width longer and if you use the iPhone official leather case on a Pro, the width of a Pro is literally only a mm or 2 wider than that.

the 14 pro has a smaller battery than the regular 14?
this 14 pro is becoming less pro (since you need 256gb at least for the 4k video recording, and not sure if the 48 pro raw needs 256gb).....
The A16 is more efficient, and the space is taken up with the larger camera sensor. The minimal difference in battery size with better battery life in video playback spec probably resulted in a very insignificant difference.

Apple doesn't report the battery metric that most here probably think about when thinking about battery life. Web-browsing time. I feel like they used to?

Apple's chips are heavily optimized for certain things (like video playback) so measuring battery life this way is very misleading when one wants an idea of general usage battery life (ie what your phone is like when handling regular touch events, which is VERY different from sitting untouched playing back a video file).

I absolutely would not be surprised if the iPhone 14 Plus had noticeably better real world battery life than the 14 Pro Max. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

So Apple got rid of the physical sim tray in the iPhone 14 Pro Max… but it’s battery size got smaller compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max? 🤔 You’d think if anything, it would get bigger.
Apple only got rid the physical sim tray but the internal design is the same as if it were there. This is because only the models sold in the USA do not have the sim tray. Only when all the models worldwide are without sim tray will we have the advantage of a greater space for the battery.

I’m going from an iPhone 12 mini to an iPhone 14 Pro, so I’m expecting the difference in battery life to be quite huge.

2 years ago, I was planning on keeping the 12 mini for longer than 2 yers and getting a battery replacement instead of a new phone. About a month ago, my available storage was down to about 7gbs, so I decided to get the 1TB model this time to keep as much as possible stored locally on device & hopefully I can get a battery replacement in 3 years instead of getting a new phone.

Does turning on limit frame rate help preserve battery life, or is it better keeping ProMotion enabled? I might not even use the AOD feature. I don’t use it on my Apple Watch S6, as I find it pointless.

I'm not too concerned, apple themselves claim the 14 pro max is 3 hours better than the plus in video playback so it's clear that 1-120hz is more efficient than 60hz. Allegedly 14 pro max's A16 is is "20% more efficient" and will get 1 more hour than the 13 pro max. Still, though, they removed the sim tray and could have probably save a lot of debate by increasing the pro max at least by 1 mAh lol

I thought they got rid of the SIM card on the 14 models, not the 14 pros?

It means less amperage, but absolutely nothing about capacity. These miss leading post needs to stop. mAh is not battery capacity.

No, mAh (As) is the unit of electrical charge, not current (or “amperage” as you call it). It is the amount of charge the battery can hold. If you multiply that with the battery voltage you know how much energy (Ws) the battery can hold.

The world does need a battery revolution…
Safer, longer lifespan, faster charging without destroying the battery and higher capasity

I’m tired of experience bad battery life after just a year of extensive use.

It also got the ability to detect crashes AND communicate with satellites… cut them a bit of slack lol

There’s also the fact that every other iPhone 14 sold around the world still has the SIM card slot. So I presume until the SIM card slot can be eliminated globally the logic board design will still have to incorporate space for one.

For those coming from an iPhone 12 Pro Max, the battery in that was 3687 compared to the 4323 in the 14 Pro Max, as well as the added battery efficiency of the A16 chip.

I'm upgrading from an iPhone X that already had its battery replaced, and the battery life is miserable. If I don't charge it overnight, the battery is already depleted by mid-day.

I googled the battery life on the iPhone X and came across a spec sheet that listed its capacity as 2716 mAh.

The iPhone 14 Pro I am upgrading to has a capacity of 3200 mAh.

That's a 17.82% increase in battery capacity.

Hopefully, that means the battery life on the iPhone 14 Pro is considerably better than on the iPhone X I currently use, and I don't have to worry about charging it overnight.

Yeah I was confused at first but I think Apple means the 14 Plus has the best standby time and general battery life when video playback isn't concerned. It's weird that they don't have a substantial metric to differentiate the two.

Unfortunately, in my experience limit frame rate does increase battery life considerably. I have a 13 Pro.

Not to mention, how long does it take someone to upload that 4K ProRes whatever video over lightning? And then the 6gb ram, the term “pro” has been so watered down it can mean anything these days.

Oh and I forgot about the slow charging speeds compared to literally any other phone.
