I did Apple Pay.

thank god I remembered my ATT pin.

EVERYONE should remember their pin for their mobile services if set up that way (which is safer)
 
It took a few minutes to get in and eventually I did around 7:08AM CDT. My pre-order for the purple 14 Pro Max 256GB was successful and 7:17AM CDT I got an email saying delivery would be Sep. 16.
 
The apple store app took forever to open. I had two preorder presets the 14pro 128 will arrive on launch; the 14 pro max 512 not until end of September. There were many failures in the process that I had to keep resubmitting the orders.
 
I pre-pre-ordered last night. Got on the store this morning at 8:10am EST. Delivery by 9/16, great! Click Checkout...Error, please try again. So I tried again and this the progress wheel just goes away and...nothing happens. Then my pre-pre-order disappeared from the Apple store. Now the only link I have to my pre-pre-order is in an email, which isn't working either. Frustrating experience!

In 2018, pre-orders started at like 4am EST. I woke up early to pre-order my XR and it was a breeze!
 
That was stressful. The app on phone kept erroring out, and the app on iPad froze. I went to website on iPad just now, and it went through finally. Delivery date was in a month, so I opted for in store pickup on 9/16. Only problem is that I selected noon because I thought I was working from home that day, but I am actually in the office, 20+ miles away. Does anyone know if I can change my pickup time without disrupting my order?

It’s not about the delay. It’s about the poor experience when Apple constantly touts how “advanced” and “amazing” and “magical” they are.
Its not about the delay? If you are unhappy with Apple dont place an order or cancel yours.
 
Got my purple Pro with no problems, unlike last year when Apple Card authorizations failed and I missed the initial delivery window.

Well that was annoying. App on phone kept hanging up. Dates changing. Gave up after 15 minutes and tried on the iPad App and checked out in 2 minutes.

Millions of people are simultaneously hitting the servers. There's literally only so much that can be done from a technology perspective to solve for this, it doesn't matter how much money Apple throws at it.
 
Anyone else not able to complete the pre-order if you entered all your info 2 days ago? I keep getting errors trying to access my pre-order info.
 
Worst on-line experience yet seems like Apple site crashed on non-ApplePay transactions
I wasn't even going to try not using Apple Pay. What's crazy is I used my iPad because for some reason that one was the only one to load fast and I didn't have the card on it so I had to add it... 🤦‍♂️
 
Well wanting to pay via PayPal in Germany, but I just keep getting the spinning thingy on the Apple Store app. And on the online store I'm not getting the PayPal payment option (event though the Help Docs say it's a valid payment option). Geez.

Apple selling iPhones for the first time eh.
 
14 pro max secured in silver 128gb (coming from an upgraded 12 pro max via ATT), delivery date is the 28th and I'm happy because that took me all of 30 minutes straight to get done and it ended up coming through on the store app
 
That was crap.

Want to reserve for IUP which means pick-up at store in UK. Half way through process and website fails with "page not found". Went back and tried again and out of stock.
 
Still can't get an order to go through. Took forever to get through the cart, and by the time I got to the last screen in checkout, the pickup was no longer available (shipping launch day wasn't available at 8:05 edt. when the store finally opened for me). Now I have a phone in the "bag," but can't load the bag to try and order it or anything else. What an absolute mess.
 
I didn't get a confirmation email nor a charge on my card, so I put through another order to be sure I was getting it on launch, and now I've got two on the way 😬 I guess I'll cancel one once they take their site out of gimped mode
 
soooooo pissed, had upgrade plan ready to go, signed in, selected in store pickup and time and hit order.
Was changed to standard shipping in October.
Every year the order experience gets worse.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. We’re on an Apple forum talking about our experiences with pre-orders. Some folks had a good experience, some folks didn’t.
 
I checked out at like 5:08 pst and checkout said delivers sept 16 but now email and order status say sept 28-oct 3. Anyone else get the bait and switch? 512 14 pro max black. Never not had it on launch day in recent years. Really annoying
This is why you do in store pick up.
 
Since I have not bought one since the 12pro, I had forgotten how stressful the experience is.

Skipping the 15 just for the stress alone.
