Preorder info was there but errored in checkout. Now preorder info is just gone completely. I have done this every year and this is the worst I have seen.
I wouldn't say it gets worse. I remember years ago (the 4?) the site was down for 45 minutes or so.soooooo pissed, had upgrade plan ready to go, signed in, selected in store pickup and time and hit order.
Was changed to standard shipping in October.

Exact same thing for me but I got it to work same way you did and got an email.Tried to use Apple Pay and it would spin the "processing" wheel and give an exclamation point about "Payment not Processed"...did this about 5 times. Then tried to use Apple Pay with 2 of the other credit cards in my wallet. Got a different error - a box this time that said payment had been interrupted. So I backed out of Apple Pay Checkout and chose the plain "checkout" button. Then a box popped up asking for the security code for my apple card...put that in and all went through. Have my order number, but no email confirmation yet and it's been at least 10 minutes. But the App says payment info received and they are preparing my order.

You might need to decide quickly if it's a delivery. From memory, the pre-orders tend to move to the "preparing for dispatch" stage really quickly and then stay there until a few days before dispatch. (To stop people with buyers remorse cancelling!). Once in preparing for dispatch, they can be difficult to cancel.I ordered a 128 and 256. I'll decide which one to go with in a couple of days.
Last year I tried that for the 13 and it didn't work, I had to order from scratch.Anyone else not able to complete the pre-order if you entered all your info 2 days ago? I keep getting errors trying to access my pre-order info.
Please don't bring logic and reason into the conversation.Millions of people are simultaneously hitting the servers. There's literally only so much that can be done from a technology perspective to solve for this, it doesn't matter how much money Apple throws at it.
Woohoo! I got email (and text message) confirmation about my order, app still raises error. Pick up next Friday, 16.09 🎉I was able to place order, save appointment date to a calendar and add it to wallet. But I did not get email confirmation and when I’m trying to see recent orders all I see is something like “error with the request, try again later”.
same here. Useless. Crashed. Got to the shipping page and told me it can't complete. Tried to do a fresh order. Didn'tlet me. Eventually I did another finance thing and it went through but the shipping was way too late.this was the worst pre-order experience of all. The cart kept crashing and timing out on both my phone and Mac. By the time my order went through delivery window was pushed all the way to Oct 3-10 for 128 black Pro Max.

Apple might have "soft" reserved the phones that were done with pre-order, and then if they're not purchased by a certain time today they will start releasing them to fill other orders.It really looks like if you did the pre order before 5AM PST on the apple store you got a launch day phone. my buddy that did not got a late September phone despite getting his order in at 8:05 EST..
